Play With Me

Ormus aka Spanish DJ, producer Alberto García debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the superb two tracker titled Play With Me. Alberto has been a DJ since 2000 and was part of the Bayona Music and Drugstore DJ collectives. He is also co-owner of the digital label Cicuta Netlabel. After he got into production, his music has been released through platforms such as Beatport and Juno since 2018, covering genres from House, Techno and Psytrance. As a DJ, he had the opportunity to be the resident in Sonomascope session at Groove Dance Club, and has played in important clubs such as the Fabrik CODE session, as well as in numerous clubs in Madrid, sharing the decks with a host of top jocks. He is currently playing and producing as a solo artist, injecting talent into his sets and sounds, characterized by exquisite musical selection and quality mixes.

We kick off with the haunting vibes of Play With Me. The intro gets us into a progressive mood with dark tones dominating proceedings. Underneath a rhythmic percussive framework lies a mesmerizing plucky bassline and swirling melodic pads. Softer, melodic motifs join a spine-tingling spoken word which adds a romanticised narrative to the groove. A definite floor destroyer that is not to be missed.

Samsara intros with a gritty stab which leads to a shuffling hi hat sequence and muted kick drum. Rich, authentic voices and tense pads prime the goose bumps as a tight drum and rolling bassline combo take control. Classic style chords find their way into the sound, keeping the groove fresh and on point.
