Doriaan aka Mexican DJ, producer Dorian Padilla is back at Bonzai Progressive with the superb U-Boot. This one follows hot on the heels of his last effort for us, a sublime remix on Undertale’s Alive But Dead. In 2015, he had his first official release under Mexican label Sky Records. After some other solid releases with Sky Records, he debuted on one of the biggest labels in Mexico, Jumpers Recordings. Doriaan is building up a discography that has one objective, make people dance and feel a wide range of emotions. He has been focused on producing quality music with influences ranging from techno, to deep house, psy trance or even classical, his very diverse musical taste inspires him to create music that has groove, melody and emotion. 2020 promises to be another good year for him, delivering more music than ever in his short career and pushing the boundaries to make his sound better and better every day. Always worth keeping an eye on this talented artist.
The Original Mix opens with a subtle, tribal influence which sets the groove up nicely. Chunky kick drums are backed with exotic percussions and a warm, probing bass pluck which adds depth and rhythm to the track. The groove is smooth and is accentuated by melodic, brassy stabs and underlying arpeggios. Top-notch stuff that will not disappoint.
Emanuel (D) and Lex Green make a welcome return to BP with a wonderful remix. Last time we saw this talented duo was back in Autumn 2019 with Crazy Town. German DJ, producer Manuel Palmitesta aka Emanuel (D) is no stranger to these shores, his debut cut Rush Hour EP proved very popular indeed which was followed by a stellar remix on Alex Vidal’s Epiphany. His works have also appeared on several of our compilations and he always delivers the goods with quality in mind. Lex Green was born and raised in Munich (DE) and currently resides in Switzerland. His first encounter with electronic music was in the 90’s, but that was just the beginning of a bigger journey. It is due to his first visit to the Spanish island of Ibiza, where he was so overwhelmed by the whole electronic music scene with its nightlife and its unique atmosphere, this was his inspiration then and it is still inspiring him today. A very much respected artist, Lex has worked with a raft of top producers and DJ’s over the years. Great to have both guys back at the mixing desk for us. One the remix here, the guys inject a dose of energy in their interpretation of the original. They keep with that subtle tribal streak in the drum arrangement, adding more rhythmic elements. A nice punchy kick drum leads the way as detuned stabs fade in. Bassy tones greet un on the break, providing warmth to the groove as airy pads and soft melodies build, refining the sound. A solid track that is not to be missed.
