Powder – Remixes

Bonzai Progressive BP9252020 23 March, 2020

Santini (B) & Quatretemps follow their stellar remix on Greg S’ Lost Feelings with the superb, Powder. With the original release making waves over on our Bonzai Classics imprint, we thought a couple of progressive remixes from three wonderfully talented artists would add an extra bit of spice to the track. These guys really need no introduction, they’ve been stalwarts on the scene for decades, providing magical moments for clubbers and ravers all over the world. They have been and will continue to perform live at many events, breaking from the traditional DJ routine to a more hands on, creative performance. A very much respected duo, not just with Bonzai, but within the international scene, there can be no doubt of the impact they’ve had in shaping the sound of a generation. You can catch the guys at Bonzai Originals 2020 and Legacy Festival 2020. They are also in the studio working on new Phrenetic System material as well as other exciting new projects. It’s well worth keeping an eye on these two, big things are gonna happen.

Phi Phi & Manu Riga return to remix duties for us at Bonzai progressive. These guys really are clicking in the studio. Their work ethic is equally matched and their combined experience always results in pure quality. It hasn’t been too long since their last full release with Voyage a Goa performing very well indeed. There is much more to come so keep an eye and ear out. Here, the remix opens with a driving, menacing bassline as rich atmospheric FX come through. A tight drum arrangement provides a steady rhythmic flow while the deeper elements continue to create tension. A mesmerizing arpeggio fades in as ominous, filtering synths ebb and flow throughout. On the break, the track descends into the depths with eerie pad work and some very cool spoken vocals. The parts start to layer up once again, thrusting us back into full-on mode for the duration. A superb effort form these two legends that does not disappoint.

Fresh off the back of his last release – Ecgolocation, AudioStorm is back, this time he steps up on the remix, delivering another fine slice. One of our stalwarts here at Bonzai Progressive, AudioStorm can always be relied upon for dishing out only the best grooves. As time went on, he has found himself delving deeper into the progressive style of house music and, his impressive back catalogue is a testament to his talent and dedication. On the remix here, the track intros with a nice, punchy kick and crispy hat combo, before a space age phasing synth line come through, setting us up for an epic ride. Rhythmic percussions join in as a plucky bassline is let loose on the low end. On the break, we’re treated to a rich, melodic encounter filled with wispy pads and soft pianos. The carefully considered construction shapes up nicely, delivering a quality ensemble of sounds for the floor that is not to be missed.
