Madrid based DJ and producer Mike Denitz returns to Piston Recordings for his second stint with the superb It’s Here EP. His last effort here – Come Back EP – proved popular among many and we’ve no doubt this one will follow suit. Since then he has released on several labels as well as featuring on My House Is Your House 14 for our parent label Bonzai Progressive. Nice to see him back for more.
This three tracker serves up a real nice tech house treat that gives us plenty of reasons to hit the floors. First up we have It’s Here which intros with a pumping kick drum and shuffling hi hat combo. The deep basses have a building intensity which comes to the fore on the break creating a solid groove to get down to. Top notch stuff. Next up we have Chop That which sets out with punchy kicks and rhythmic percussions before a deep rumbling bassline takes over dominating the groove. Cool vocal shots litter the sound creating a dynamic layer while pads float across the spectrum. Superb stuff with a pounding beat that is not to be missed. Rounding off this fine pack we have the deeper One More Time with its slightly more minimal approach. The drums beat out a steady groove as sub level basses rattle the bass bins. Intense pads rise up alongside distant rave synths which are joined by a very cool spoken vocal creating an intriguing narrative. Excellent stuff once again that will not disappoint.
