Fanizza and Andrew Cash join forces to deliver the superb Galaxia. Fanizza aka Fausto Fanizza has been a prominent figure in the dance music scene for many years now. He teamed up with Thomas Schwartz for their Bonzai debut with Mbira as well as forming the hugely successful Starchasers back at the turn of the millennium and since then he’s racked up a very impressive catalogue under various guises. His works have appeared on several top labels and his music is consistent with pure quality and inspiration. Italian native Andrew Cash aka Sunlight Project returns to BP alongside Fausto for his full debut after first appearing here on the remix for Mbira. Over the last number of years, he has carved out a solid niche in the narrow gap between trance and progressive. Known for creating dreamy, uplifting melodies and steady basslines, his works have gained a great deal of support from top jocks and artists alike including Paul Van Dyk, Manuel Le Saux, Dash Berlin and Armin Van Buuren.
Galaxia opens with a superb, punchy kick drum and lush bass combo. Soft pads rise up in the background as the bassline transforms into an energetic driver. Crispy sharp hats and claps cut through the low end while melodic arpeggios cascade through the groove. The track becomes infectious as the hypnotic sounds relentlessly power through. The break is a respite filled with surreal pad moments that captivate before climaxing with a subtle 303 style sequence and snare roll build up taking us into full on mode for the duration. An absolute belter of a track that is not to be missed.
Kora opens with a spritely kick drum and shuffling hi hat combo along with accompanying tablas giving the track an early rhythmic vibe. Eerie ambient pads fill out the background as cool, spacey FX come through. A deep, probing, plucky bassline dominates the groove as we’re drawn deeper into the progressive vibe. Striking piano riffs and melodic synths contract brilliantly with the deeper elements, adding dancefloor appeal to the groove. Another gem to add to your arsenal that will not disappoint.
