Bonzai Progressive BP8682019 12 August, 2019

Scott Rotton debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the excellent Acid Souls. Scott’s passion for electronic music started in the 90’s, he grew up in the UK listening to 90’s trance. Gatecrasher One was on his doorstep and that’s naturally where he spent most of his early clubbing days, this influence can clearly be seen in his music productions today. Understanding the intricacies of club music has helped Scott become a truly versatile DJ, because of this he has been a staple DJ for some of the world leading brands including 5 consecutive years for Space Ibiza On Tour. His productions are often a modern blend of techno, progressive house and trance, carefully infused into a precisely crafted sonic package. A pleasure to have him on board.

The Original Mix sets off with a fresh drum section filled with chunky beats and bright, crispy hi hats alongside rhythmic percussions. Striking synth plucks create a trance-like vibe, growing in anticipation. A deep rumbling bassline powers the groove as melodic arpeggios and rising pads come through. On the break we’re lulled into a minimal sequence with airy pads and soft tones before a raucous build up takes us to the main event and the 303 lead. Delivered with subtlety, the acid groove is infectious and worth the wait. Excellent stuff, not to be missed.

Ruslan Haievyk is up first on remix duties. Haievyk is Ruslans new persona for producing and already he gave us the superb Heartbeat as well as some remix work on his own MacroVision project. This guy is hugely talented and it’s always a pleasure to hear his latest work. On the remix here he wastes no time in getting right down to business with an upbeat vibe, complete with cosmic sounds and a solid, rumbling bassline. Cascading arps and bright plucks combine for a sweet melody to the backdrop of an intensely building groove. The break unleashes the full force of the synths before a beautiful climax delivers the much anticipated 303 sequence that blows the track up brilliantly.

Switzerland based F-Act returns to Bonzai Progressive with his superb Back To The 90’s Remix. We last saw Bruno with his Detuned World which gained great support as expected. He proved his feeling for rhythm and music at the age of seventeen when he got his first DJ gigs. Since 1993 he has been producing music as F-Act, mostly as a hobby but in the early 2000’s he’s churned out a plethora of tunes on various labels with great support from around the world. Here, Bruno pulls at our nostalgia strings with a beautifully crafted intro which bursts into life after a few bars with a solid, thumping beat and infectious arp. We’re teased with the main melody as the tension rises. Deep, sub-level basses rock the floor as the track is layered with quality sounds, creating a rich and dynamic groove. The 303 sequence is filtered in with expert precision, causing a frenzy in the groove when it peaks. An absolute monster of a tune that will definitely grab a lot of attention, a must have.
