The Revolving Junkie aka UK based Paul Kieran shows us his second Bonzai release after the well received “Scalpel”. The darker edge continues and we are certain of a lot of support for this UK talent.”No Stars” has that dark edge that keeps you locked in to the groove, the deep bass coupled with a superb drum and perc arrangement build the rhythm nicely, cool synths build up and transform into something tough and gritty. On the break things take a subtle turn with an almost whispered vocal but then it’s straight back into the dark groove.”Have Good Time” is a far more minimal approach, subtle kicks with a smooth percussion line are the backing for a constantly evolving synth. Soon the deeper bass comes through and a repetitive short vocal sample takes over. The sound here morphs and filters brilliantly, top stuff!
