Luanda based house music aficionado Leandro Silva returns to Piston Recordings with the fantastic Aural. Leandro has plied his trade in Luanda for many years and has continued to promote and expand his music with residencies in top clubs all over the city. His DJing skills transfer to music production with ease and he has racked up a very impressive back catalogue across many top labels including Piston Recordings, Prismat Recordings and Midnight Express to name just a few. 2016 saw him launch his own label Igual Recordings which focuses on various techno forms and which has seen great support. Nice to see him back at Piston for 2017 and we hope to see more soon.
Marco Madia returns to Piston with the superb three track Egrets EP. This one marks his 7th outing for us and comes after his latest offering Ascidians back in Summer 2016. He’s also appeared on various compilations over the years. Marco has been in and around the underground scene for a number of years. In 2006 he moved to Berlin where he got a degree audio engineering and soon started work as a sound designer. He also produces under the pseudonym Flip Morton and his experience has led to working on film soundtracks and exhibitions. Always a pleasure to have his work drop into the inbox.
Daniel Ray returns to Piston Recordings with another superbly crafted deep house double entitled Low Heals. Over the last few years Daniel has delivered some top quality sounds both here and over at Eyepatch Recordings. His last effort – Tinker was very well received indeed and we’ve no doubt he will continue to bring his A-game to everything he touches.
As 2016 draws to a close we present a selection of some of our very best Deep House cuts, conveniently wrapped up in a tantalising 42 track compilation that will be a serious weapon in your DJ arsenal. Bonetti returns to Piston Recordings with another fine slice of deep house goodness in the form of Back To Nature. Since Bonetti’s last Piston outing – Pumping Pumping, he has scored several top notch cuts that have impressed many. Great to see this guy back once again and hopefully we’ll be seeing more in the near future.
Italian DJ and producer duo Marco Mei and Stefano Ugliano (6884) aka Bicycle Corporation debut on Piston recordings with the fantastic, retro inspired Back To Basics EP. The guys find themselves travelling the world and dishing out their unique mixture of house grooves, prog atmospheres and techno funkadelism. While Marco is a longstanding DJ – having played at major clubs like Pacha, Fuse, SOS Superclub and the Imperia Lounge Moscow – Stefano refined his skills in the art of playing synths. They merged these skills into an original project with a penchant for house music, while always keeping a distinctive sound. Their tracks have been released on labels such as Mauro Picotto’s Alchemy and Phunk Investigation’s Miniatures Records and they have received support from artists such as, like DJ Sneak, Dubfire, Axwell, Danny Tenaglia, Above&Beyond and more. They have also provided remixes for the likes of Mauro Picotto, Eddie Amador, and Chris Fortier. These guys have their finger firmly on the pulse, they traverse the underground scene in tandem with mainstream clubs ensuring that everybody gets a taste of their sound. Delighted to have them on board at Piston and we hope to see more soon.
Portuguese producer Ricardo Cardoso aka Ritz debuts on Piston Recordings with the tantalizingly seductive two tracker entitled Daydream EP. A relative newcomer on the scene Ricardo used to go by m0u53 and has seen several releases across various labels in the last couple of years. His Ritz moniker is dedicated to all things house. We know you’re gonna love this guys work, the attention to detail is stunning and the passion for house music shines through, enjoy.
Gusher aka Caracas, Venezuela based DJ and producer Gustavo Herrera debuts on Piston Recordings with the deep house grooves of Circadian Rhythm. Gustavo first got into dance music at age 14 when he bought Daft Punk’s Homework. Four years later he became a DJ after absorbing all the delights of electronic music. His early influences are the likes of Jon Cutler, Marques Wyatt, Mark Farina, Groove Armada, Carl Craig, Roman Flugel and more. In 2009 he seriously got involved in making music and started working with Carloscres on a few tracks like Sleepscience released on Society 3.0 and One life to live released on Cosmic Disco Records before signing with Argentinean house label Di One Music to release his first EP titled Someday. He was then picked up by Irish record label Swink Music Ltd releasing the Freedom EP with Carloscres and two other producers (Matthew Collins and Love Bites). Great to have him on board and we know you’re gonna love this guy’s sound.
Bjerk Peterson returns to Piston and joins up with debutant Citrus on the funky fresh Funkadelika. Tijuana born and now residing in Barcelona, Bjerk’s last outing here was back in May 2016 with his Diggin’ Deep EP which proved popular among many. Since then he’s been racking up quality cuts for various outfits as well as appearing at top parties around Barcelona and beyond.
Bonzai regular Jakhira steps over to Piston Recordings for his debut EP entitled Americana. Multi-talented Belgium based producer Jakhira certainly knows how to churn out quality vibes. At BP he relishes in dishing out quality prog while keeping his finger on the deep house pulse that runs through his veins. He has also graced various other labels with his sounds and we’re delighted to see him at Piston where we hope to see much more in the future.
Daniel Ray returns to Piston Recordings with deep and sultry vibes of Tinker. We last saw this guy back in October 2015 with Dirty Laugh before heading over to Eyepatch Recordings in early 2016 with Petal. Daniel spreads his expertise over many genres with deep house and chill being his most active genres, today we see him with his deep house mode in full effect.
