Köschk returns to Bonzai Progressive with Dystopia which also features two solid remixes from Cortex Thrill and Matt Black. This one follows the fantastic Made Of Stars from a few short months ago and is right up there in the same vein of quality we’ve come to love from this guy. Lebanese DJ and producer Vince Aoun remains consistent in his delivery of quality sounds, he has grabbed the attention of many top jocks like Paul Van Dyk, Judge Jules, and Paul Oakenfold and his tracks appeared on many labels around the globe including PVD’s Vandit Records. Known for a unique, silky smooth progressive groove, we’re always delighted when his latest creation drops through the mailbox.

The Original Mix conjures up vibrant images of a dystopian age with harsh sounds and some dark vocal snippets. The track is powered by a tight drum section and deep, sub level basses. Hypnotic arpeggios stand firm as the layers build, creating an intimidating atmosphere. Köschk pulls out all the stops here, creating a rich, almost cinematic cut that will sit perfectly into any late-night set.

Cortex Thrill aka Bonzai stalwart Ivo T Montina returns on remix duty after a fine interpretation on Blufeld & Nikko Mavridis’ Iris. From the sweaty darkened rave scene of the mid-nineties, Cortex Thrill has stood the test of time and evolved their sound while utilising the cutting-edge technology of the day. In its contemporary form, that sound has bridged the gap between progressive and tech resulting in a hybrid genre that is unique. Previous outings here in recent years have certainly lived up to that and we’ve no doubt we will be seeing much more from Croatia. Here, Ivo delivers his meticulous progressive interpretation with the usual quality in mind. A strong, powerful groover made up of tight beats and a mesmerizing bass section. Cascading arps are joined by sweeping synths that add rich texture to the sound and a mystical vibe. Top-notch again, not to be missed.

Matt Black returns to Bonzai Progressive on remix duties, following his superb Blindspot from a few months ago. He has been making music since the mid 90’s and has since gone on to have tracks signed to labels such as Stripped digital, Mirabilis and Pro-B-Tech and has had remixes on labels such as Crop Circle, Emotional Content and 3rd Avenue. In the past Matt’s music has been supported by DJ’s such as Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo and has been played on both major radio stations and internet stations such as Proton radio and Frisky. Matt brings his A-game to the table once again with an absolute stomper of a track. Wonderfully upbeat with a buoyant groove filled with pulsating basses and a strong drum arrangement, the track leads up to the main event with teasing allure as the main synthline takes hold. On the break the filters are opened to unleash that transcendent and purely euphoric synth that etches its way into your brain for the duration. Fantastic effort that will not disappoint.
