Ewan Rill returns alongside Bonzai debutant K Loveski with the fantastic three track EP entitled Ametino. Ewan Rill aka DJ and producer Ivan Romanovskii is no stranger to these shores having already secured several quality releases here including original works and remixes. As ever we witness the sheer talent this guy has to offer as he delivers the goods once more. Fellow countryman Konstantin Loveski is a pioneer in the Russian scene and has been a prominent figure in St Petersburgh for many years, playing at its top clubs and parties as well as featuring on the decks in over 70 cities in his home country. His musical palette is varied and it’s this diversity which makes him stand out and be able to join Ewan to make a formidable duo.
Ametino gets right down to business with a flowing club friendly percussion alongside a solid pumping kick drum. mysterious keys and a chilling voice create a surreal atmosphere before a rich, plump bassline comes in to dominate the track. Melodic arpeggios litter the groove before we head to the break for a sublime sequence. An intriguing slice with lots going on that will make a welcome addition in any opening set.
Baresca opens with a deep vibe made up of chunky kicks, rhythmic percussions and a subby, probing bassline. Classic alarm style synths tease as gritty basses take over and cool vocals come through. A solid groove ensues developing a mystical air thanks to creative melodies and expert arrangement. Mesmeric and hypnotic this one is a definite must for getting the party started.
Koh Taneo dishes out a superb driving progressive groove filled with deep rumbling basses and a super tight rhythmic drum arrangement. Panning synth plucks create a cosmic vibe while slow moving pads and subtle arpeggios add rich melodics to the sound. Cool vocals add character and depth making this an absolute must have track for your arsenal.
