Miguel Reis is back at Piston with Boom Bam. His last release Classic Motherfucker Record was well received and landed a spot on Piston’s Ghetto Tales EP Volume 2.
Boom Bam intros with a super tight drum arrangement that provides a cool shuffling groove with the help of subtle percussion. A catchy vocal is very distinctive throughout and puts the track at the dancey side of the tracks. The groovy bass is a big feature and will no doubt shake the speakers at any club. AS the track evolves we are led into a world full of expertly tweaked FX and erotic vocal snippets that keep the sound firmly at the deeper end making this a definite must for the darker rooms out there.
Dancefloor sets off with a bass heavy sequence which is contrasted with bright tinkling percussions. Classic vocal samples filter through as sublime strings and melodic pianos clash. We are taken into the main track with a brilliant vocal sample that leads to a tough kick and deep bass combi with contrasting open hats. The groove builds as various percussive instruments get the rhythms flowing resulting in a very urban feeling sound. Superbly constructed piece that will turn a few heads for sure.
