Berlin based Agrande delivers a stunning slice of progressive goodness on Progrez with “Kelang” and is backed up with a range of quality remixes from top producers. Agrande’s style is quite unique as he likes to delve into eerie atmospheres and glitchy loops creating surreal ambience within each of his tracks. With a respectable list of releases on many labels Agrande is sure to impress for years to come.
The original mix fits his style very well indeed, glitched loops abound add a gritty edge while eerie whispered vocals add to the sublime vibe on this tracks. Super tight kicks and percs with a deep rolling bass are layered against a sweeping modulated synth, top stuff.
First up to remix is Orlando, Florida based DJ and producer Chris Domingo. Chris is responsible for creating his own labels of which there are five at the moment, he is described as one of the old school DJ’s from Orlando and gains the respect of his peers with top notch productions and sets. On this remix he gets deep down into the depths of progressive house, an amazing bass and synth combi are the perfect match for the hypnotic pads that dominate the sound. We also see the use of the vocal from the original and it’s still gives an eerie vibe!
Sterling provides the next two remixes, Whisper Remix and Dub Remix. Slightly different approach on this with a very subtle cinematic feel created from the near wall of sound which stands out brilliantly. Hypnotic grooves and again the vocals are used to great effect with a super tight drum and perc arrangement, great stuff.
The In Session Remix gets right into the house theme with an underlying tribal element yet still stays true to the progressive roots of the main track. Very sinister sound here due that whispered vocal and an expertly crafted arrangement suitable for any late night dark room!
DJing and production duo Jon ManimaL & Magros are back to Progrez with an absolute stunning progressive house release, “Spiders” features three quality slices of dark vibes.
The title track starts us off with the dark theme coming to the fore straight away. Subtle kicks soon find their thump on the intro and what a thump it is, the track then builds its way through the layers with bass suddenly exploding onto the scene. An eerie synth and vocal add intensity while on the break some well crafted melodies take hold. A true all round solid progressive groove.
“I Can Phil U” ramps up the pressure chugging along in another fine progressive groove. Heavy on the bass frequencies here that adds real depth to the sound, awesome high quality FX make up a big part of the sound. Perfect fodder for the more dedicated floors.
“Strange Dancers” changes direction slightly with a more melodic approach yet retaining that deep progressive element. Brighter sounds conflict with the deep basses and some beautiful synth work provides the melody while the pads enhance this feature, very well crafted indeed.
Chapter 10 of the Progrez series continues to showcase amazing talents in the progressive world. Five new tracks grace this edition from artists across the globe with top quality productions all round.
First up we have Sonsez with “Balance”. Based in Germany, Serder Sonsez Dumlu has an impressive list of releases behind him on some top notch labels including Baroque Back Catalogue, Deepsessions Recordings, Fraud Recordings and more. Here he delivers superb tripped out progressive vibes with a haunting ambience. Thumping kicks start us off with eerie FX creating that haunting atmosphere, the rhythm flows when the deep bass kicks in and we settle into an absolute stomping ride, well crafted melancholic melodies make a show adding to the intensity, brilliant.
Next is Lemonchill with “Dark And Darker” which is exactly what this track is, deep dark progressive house. Israeli producer Idan Or aka Lemonchill is no stranger to Bonzai, he had a collaborative compilation out on Bonzai Progressive in 2011 entitled “Room 305”. Tracks also appeared on Music Worx, Green Martian and a host of others along the way. This track is real deep heavy bass monster, from the off we get a taste of that bass which vibrates right through your soul. Strong, solid groove here with a tight drum arrangement, huge energy generated here that will have those bass bins shaking!
Canadian born Abe Van Dam delivers us “Pi Scorpii”, a well constructed slice of prog house. Abe has seen a number of releases on Quanza Recordings, J V Records and Pro B Tech Records. His styles range from tribal to techno and he also likes to mess around with time signatures. This track has got many elements which fit so well, a real deep bass with multiple FX work well together and that gives a techy side to things. Tight groove with kicks and sharp percs building to the break where a sinister vibe takes hold, nice funky vocal also, superb stuff.
Based in Romania, Dopex is up next with “Elegy”. With a release on SeeSaw Records, pure electronica is a good way to describe this sound, beautiful arrangement skills with a myriad of sounds and FX raiding our senses. Real deep vibe with subtle kicks and a world of percs with a raspy spoken vocal narrating throughout, very impressive.
Steven Quesada aka Tepes from San Jose, Costa Rica rounds up this latest edition with “S.H.O.C.K.”. Mainly producing trance with releases on eMusica and Only Trance Records we see Steven darken his vibe for a quality ride into progressive trance. Super tough bass and thumping kicks are contrasted with a sweet melodic sound throughout. On the break a top quality vocal brings the whole sound together very well indeed, quality!

Russian artist Andre Volodin debuts on Progrez with his two track EP entitled “Tardo”, a wonderful foray into the progressive tech house arena.
Kicking us off is the original mix which has all the hallmarks of a prog tech masterclass, tight arrangement and a cool grooving bassline backed up with really nice FX work, simple yet highly effective.
Next up is the Techy Mix and as the name suggests the track delves deeper into the tech world, deeper basses and a more solid techno feel with the slightest hint of progressive filtering through on the main hook.
“The Night on Santorini” is another fine example in this genre, awesome house filled keys and a twist on the break with some beautiful vox samples then back into the grooving tech rhythm.
A fine debut for this artist on a well established quality label with hopefully more to come.
Turkish born DJ/producer Oushanmete aka Oguzhan Mete debuts on Progrez with a hypnotic look into the deep side of prog house.
Having started to listen to electronica from an early age it wasn’t long before Oguzhan found DJing and producing.
With a slew of releases under his belt we are treated here to some tight skills.
Sun is a deep edged track with a hypnotic vocal throughout, lots of progressive elements and great percussion fx. This tune will be a complete mind trip for any listener.
My Mind goes deeper still taking on a more house orientated sound, lots of fresh sounds and nice arrangement on this, again we are treated to some very cool vocal work and a phatt bassline!
Kevin Vega, real name Kevin Verelst, born and raised in Antwerp, Belgium, got familiar with electronic music at a very young age. Experiencing the end of the new beat period late 80’s, he sat on the first row when house music was born.
Although too young to go out to clubs, Kevin discovered music such as ‘House party’ and bands as Channel X, Praga Khan and Neon. Later on, he followed the music as a teenager through programs such as Party Zone on MTV, showing music of FSOL, the Prodigy, Messiah,…
So back in 1994, he knew that this would become his life. At the age of 14, he bought his first vinyl record with ‘lunch money’, given by his parents. So instead of food, he just bought records, in that time more Rave orientated sounds. After a search for his musical identity, the switch came when he first heard Sasha and Digweeds ‘Northern Exposure’ album. From that time on, he became more progressive orientated.
In the year 1999, Kevin started learning by himself how to make music, using Reason 1.0. Bit by bit, his studio came to life, and so did his know-how. Nowadays, he creates different kinds of tunes, going from ambient, over electro and progressive, to more groove and house orientated sounds.
The future looks bright, let’s follow it!

Live it – Luv it – Dance it!
The Idem had her first contact with electronic music production at the age of 18 with the well-known Reason and quickly noticed that this was a wide and wonderful world, beginning to create her own rhythms and grooves in the styles Hardtechno and Techno-house which was what she liked at the time. Of course all beginning is difficult and good results need time and a long learning process, a road which she embarked all by herself.
Then she bought some turntables to play music and gain knowledge, taste, and start getting into the world of music.
Age 20 she created several Hard-Techno tracks and sent them to various record companies. The spanish label Jaxx Records was the first to respond positively to the music and showed interest in publishing her creations. Unfortunately the deal never happened due to the bad situation in which the music market was in at the time.
Age 23 she begins to build a small studio and buys the famous Ableton Live and some powerful synthesizer and starts again to create many tracks an loops that remained unfinished as she was not satisfied of their sound.
Now, age 25 after long and hard work to get the sound to be what she wants it to be her first EP gets released referring to her stage name: Non Bis In Idem
The Idems style when creating music ranges from Progressive House, Deep Tech-House, Minimal Tech-House, Electro House always with a personal touch from Deep Electronic Music.

Miika Kuisma is a finnish musician, artist, philosopher, futurist and inventor who’s passion is to understand fundamental nature of the reality by exploring spirituality, science, history and technology.
In early 90’s he got big revelation in a small house club and walked out as a new person. From that moment he knew dance music was ‘for him’. His first electronic records which influenced him the most include works by Jarre, Cosmic Baby, Moby, Prodigy, Faithless and early Eye-Q releases. After falling in love with so many electronic styles by now, also his own productions have become somewhat unpredictable.
His tracks are usually somewhere between progressive and melodic, while not being not ‘too deep’ or ‘too cheesy’. On the DJ’ing side Miika was known for his perfectionistic approach to build his sets in certain way. Especially his “Intelligent Design” radio mixes were trips across different moods and genres.
Miika has spent most of his life playing around with technical gear but also loved to draw and play instruments from very early age. After getting his degree in electricity he turned around and took career paths in graphic design, programming, animation and user-interface design.
Besides music production and performances he played key role in the concept and interface-design with EKS in the development of the MIDI controller EKS Otus. He played his last DJ gig in April of 2009, sold his record label “Subtraxx Recordings” for Bonzai Music and relocated into South-East Asia.
