We welcome Ton TB to Bonzai progressive with the warm house grooves of We’re Coming From Chicago. With over 30 years in the music industry, he is best known for his productions under the Three Drives moniker, which gave us the mighty Greece 2000 in 1997 among other classics. In the early days of his career, he held residencies at several venues in The Netherlands, where he built his reputation, grabbing attention from promoters who soon had him booked at top festivals including Tomorrowland, Dance Valley and others. He also rocked world famous clubs such as Space Miami, Turnmills, El Divino and Privilege to name a few. In 2003 and 2004 he hit the headlines with Electronic Malfunction and Dream Machine on Balckhole Recordings, gaining support from Tiesto and others. He remains a household name in the scene and he is still rocking dancefloors all over the world.
We’re Coming From Chicago opens the release and, as the name suggests, we’re treated to a fine display of Chicago House grooves. The track lures us in right from the off as cool, stabby organ notes sit on a bed of punchy beats, rhythmic congas and flurries of shuffling percussions. Classic style vocals ring out as teasing 303’s come through, combining with airy pads for a sweeping atmospheric vibe, making this a must have for any serious house music junkie. Sunday Afternoon concludes the release, taking a much deeper route into the House Music sound. Chunky kicks and crispy percussions are joined by a dark funky bassline pluck and grizzly vocals. Warm chords and melodic pads move effortlessly through the groove as mesmerizing arps fade up before groovy keys finish off the arrangement. Top-notch once again, not to be missed.
