Scottish DJ, producer Allan McLoud returns to Bonzai Progressive with This Is Now, which is backed up with a solid remix from F-Act. This one follows his debut – Reset EO, which proved popular among many. From a very young age Allan was listening to music, playing different instruments and ripping guitar amps apart to find out how they work. In the late 80’s he started to DJ and produce Jazz influenced Hip-Hop using a Commodore C64 and Amiga 500 with self-built interfaces, but soon found his love for electronic music after becoming captivated with the sounds of 80’s synth music. He started out making breakbeat before finding the fledgling acid sound and finally finding his passion producing trance, which was influenced by the Dorian Gray sound of the time. He then started DJing in Clubs in North Germany making a name for himself and then deciding to move to the Stuttgart area where he started doing studio work for Unsubmissive Records. Throughout the years after, he released a plethora of music on several labels which were championed the world’s top jocks. Over the past several years he’s been collecting and repairing old analogue synthesizers and rebuilding his studio where he has a new mission to create more outstanding music for our listening pleasure. Nice to see him back once again.
Almi & Theus (BR) are back at Bonzai Progressive with another outstanding progressive monster titled Silence, which follows hot on the heels of their last outing, Wishes. Almi continues to impress, with productions and remixes, adding creative elements to his sound. His tracks have been released on several labels both as a solo artist and in groups. In 2020 he is reaching for higher ground by venturing into the darker sounds of melodic techno and house, we certainly look forward to that. Theus has been producing music since 2017 and is an artist with focus, he’s attended many clubs and festivals, getting a feel for the sound so he can find his own way and uniqueness. He is inspired by melodic and progressive nuances of House and Techno. He is always ready for a great performance, knowing how to read the dance floor and getting the audience to immerse in his musical experience. Great to have both these talented artists back once, much more to come in the future.
PCP aka Pieter Claeys returns to Bonzai Progressive with his Fish & Chips EP. This one follows his last remix here for Hakan Ozurun’s Shecko, among great reviews and reception. An oldskool jock who is considered with legendary status, Pieter was busy in the 90’s destroying the roof of the famous Belgian dance music utopia, Balmoral (and still is). He also held a long-term residency at The Temple (formerly Boccaccio). Over the last several years, he’s released a raft of tracks on various labels, including his own, Rewritable Records and sub-label Vintage Deep and has worked with a host of top artists. He also joined forces with friend and fellow artist Olivier Pieters on their Boccaccio Life (Chapter 1) EP. Always a pleasure having him here at BP.
Two legends, Airwave and Phi Phi, join forces once again on Today Is Made Of Yesterdays. Last time out, they gave us Finesse, which was a while ago, but they have been very busy in the meantime. For Airwave, the last few months have been very productive. He’s utilised his time in the studio to come up with a series of creative ideas as well other projects and, as ever we are super excited to be hearing his latest efforts with this new track. Phi Phi has continued to provide his journey-led sets for his followers, playing out on several online radio stations worldwide. He is also preparing for post lockdown events which are coming in thick and fast. In the studio he continues his wonderful partnership with Manu Riga. Their last effort was on the remix for Rick Pier O’Neil’s Itzamna and there is so much more to come from those guys.

Matt Black returns to Bonzai Progressive with another fine slab of progressive goodness. We first saw Matt here on remix duties for The First Rebirth as part of our 25-year special remix series before he gave us the superb Mindscape back in 2017. Matt has been making music since the mid 90’s but it was when he started Segment records in 2003 that his work really began to get noticed. His music has been supported by DJ’s such as Nick Warren and Hernan Cattaneo and has been played on both major radio stations and internet stations such as Proton and Frisky. We welcome Chris Sterio back to BP. We last saw him here in 2018 collaborating with Downgrooves and their excellent Zen Moments. A veteran artist with over 15 years in the progressive scene, Chris has churned out some top-quality material and, by the sounds of things, he has no desire to let up. Daniela Rhodes aka D-Vox (her DJ name) debuts on Bonzai, bringing her rich vocal to the track. Most known for her DJ skills, she has shared the decks with numerous world-renowned jocks since 2002. In recent years she is becoming increasingly more recognised for her studio skills with more the 30 collabs already. Herself, Chris and Matt scored a Beatport No.16 in May 2020 with the fantastic Out Of The Dark. Great to have her on board. A formidable trio, we hope to see more of in the future.

Katarina Dariy joins us at Bonzai Progressive with her debut track titled Find Yourself. Katarina is an emerging deep house and melodic techno DJ, producer from Kiev, currently based in Antwerp. Being raised in a family of musicians, there was almost no chance for her not to follow her musical feeling. Guitar, piano, drums, and singing have all accompanied her throughout her nomadic life. Katarina’s interest in electronic music has its roots back in her teenage years, when rave culture in Kiev had only just started taking form as we now know it. But her aspirations became more tangible after moving to Antwerp. Her apartment was located close to the legendary club Cafe de Anvers, which gave her access to weekly inspiration from top artists. She started pursuing her DJ career in Antwerp clubs like Vaag and Flat-A, which resulted in her being invited to showcase her talents in Amsterdam, Ibiza, and Mykonos.
