A relative newcomer on the production front, Moscow based Minijack Tulip debuts on Eyepatch with the fantastic three tracker entitled PZ/DC. The purveyor of all things house and techno, Minijack Tulip released his first track back in 2015 – New Rules – on Natural Rhythm. Great to have him on board at Eyepatch and we hope to see more soon.
Deep house maestro Victor Maximiliano returns to Eyepatch with the wonderful two tracker Prototype. This guy has always been and remains a firm favourite around the Eyepatch office and he never fails to deliver only the finest grooves. Prepare to get your groove on with this one, you’re gonna love it.
We welcome back Joe Babylon & Ittai Barkai to the Eyepatch Recordings camp with this superb four tracker entitled Fly Sequence. Ittai returns after a bit of a hiatus, we last caught a glimpse of his sounds back in 2014 with a fantastic remix on Van Czar’s Jean Tonique. Previously he had wowed us with his own brand of deep house and tech grooves on the superb My Sugar Brother EP. Great to see him back once again and hopefully we will see more from him soon.
New Yorker Corey Biggs is doing the rounds on various labels under the Bonzai umbrella. This time out his Rockstar alias delivers the superb The White Hole which comes with three top notch remixes. Previously Corey showed up on our Progrez imprint, back at the end of 2015 he gave us the superb Nature Never Sleeps before appearing on our Club Traxx Dark & Deep 3 compilation at the turn of this year. He also stepped up for remix duties on A.R.E.S featuring Anna Julia – Sparks Will Fly on Bonzai Progressive in early 2016 and no doubt he’ll be popping up somewhere else soon. His approach to music and techno in general is refreshing and it’s always a pleasure to get his stuff in the inbox.
Daniel returns to Eyepatch with the superb two tracker – Petal which comes a few months after his last cut – Dirty Laugh on Piston Recordings. Petal delivers a solid deep house groove right from the off as chunky kick drums and soft hats dish out cool rhythms. Warm notes lace the groove and are soon joined by a wonderfully lush deep bass that carries the sound beautifully. As the layers build we get treated to some cool drum patterns alongside weird and wonderful FX the fill up the space bringing a surreal touch to this mesmerizing slice of deepness, top notch.
Prolific DJ and producer Joni Saarelainen aka Johny S returns to Eyepatch after a long hiatus, but this time he is back making a full release debut with the superb Less Could Be More EP. previously we had seen Joni on remix duty on a few tracks for Chantola way back in 2011, and he continues to offer his skills on Chantola’s tracks to this day. Joni is no stranger to us here in the Bonzai offices either, his first release came on our legacy label Tranceportation under his Saarre guise with Time Stops Here in 2008 and then The Dark EP in 2009, he has also shown up on Green Martian and Nemesis back in 2010. In 2010 he gave us Saxian on Tripomatic Records, this time as Joni S. Since then he has continued to appear on quality labels such as Bullbeat Recordings, Club 86 Recordings as well as appearances on compilations for Bonzai Progressive and Green Martian. Great to see him back and we’re sure this newest cut will have a big impact in many sets.
Johnny Deep returns to Eyepatch after a bit of a hiatus with the superb three tracker Feel The Realness EP. Just under a year ago was the last time we got a glimpse of this guys talents when he delivered the excellent Flowting Up which was very well received indeed, although we did get a couple of tracks on Tech House Toolbox 4 and My House Is Your House 11. A great way to kick off 2016, we hope to see much more from Johnny in the year ahead.
Give It To Me (I Need It) gets right down to business with a solid deep house groove filled with beautifully warm chords and a wonderful perfectly tweaked bassline. Up top we have a high string that sits over those warm chords as well as various FX that add great textures along the way. A classic styled vocal comes through and sets the groove alight. Tight drums filled with chunky kicks, crispy hats and snappy snares dish out cool rhythms as this super charged house cut gathers pace. A must have track for sure.
US based DJ and producer Beyond Beats shows up on our long running deep house label – Eyepatch Recordings – with his Reload EP. This guys is certainly making his way around the Bonzai stable, his debut came on Progrez with Somewhere Out There before heading over to Green Martian with Finally Ready. Great to see an artist dip his hand into different genres and showcasing his talents in a dynamic way.
Zeo debuts on Eyepatch with Cycle EP, and has the enviable job of offering a bit of a revival for the label as we haven’t had much activity since July 2014, and he definitely delivers the goods in style. Five intros with deep house grooves in mind as stabbing chords are met with a probing bass and crispy hats. You find yourself locked in for the duration as your mind is explored by that probing bass which is joined by a mesmerising pad that hangs in the air beautifully. A real solid slice here that will get the floors moving for sure.
Daniel Ray notches up his fifth Eyepatch release with this superb two tracker entitled Keeping On. Last time out, Daniel furnished us with the deep and techy vibes of Mirrors which saw great support across the board. Keeping On gets into a deep groove right from the off with a groovelicious bass chord arrangement that fills the sound beautifully. Tight drums and cool crispy hats get the rhythm flowing nicely as the deep vibes continue to rise. A sense of melancholy prevails from the poignant strings on offer as the dirtier side of tech is just about suppressed within this solid groover, Top notch stuff that will not go unnoticed, a must have.
