One of Piston’s longer standing contributors Marco Madia returns with another deep house slice entitled Gray Squirrel that will keep the floors moving no doubt. This one marks his ninth outing as well as appearances on several compilations over the years. We’re always excited when his latest offerings drop into the mailbox and already we can’t wait for his next one, for now though, get down and dirty with these deep and groovy movers.
Popular Piston Recordings contributor Daniel Ray returns for his 5th outing here with the superb Under Your Bed EP. We last saw him back in December 2016 with the impressive Low Heals before appearances on volume 8 and 9 of our Secrets Of The Trade series. Always great to hear new material from this hugely talented artist and no doubt we’ll see much more in the future.
Mike Morales aka Mi Ke returns to Piston with another round of sublime deep house grooves. This one marks his thrid outing for us having previously scored great support with Come With Me EP back in April 2017 and his debut slice, 214 EP under his Mi Ke moniker. Mike is a force to be reckoned with on the house scene as he’s been around for quite some time. He is heavily influenced by Portugal’s infamous underground scene and his name began resonating amongst established DJ’s and artists. His debut track – Dream Shattered, premiered on Digweed’s Transitions radio show in 2003 and since then he has continued to churn out top quality vibes.
Santiago De Chile based DJ and producer Delfina Franco aka Delphie debuts on Piston Recordings with the fantastic Re-Re-Lease which also features a solid remix from compatriot Pablo Cornejo. For the last number of years Delphie has been churning out top quality grooves on various labels with great support coming from all quarters. She plays at top clubs all over Argentina and beyond where she dishes out her brand of all things tech and deep house and she also runs Welcome Records as label manager. Great to have her on board at Piston and we hope to be hearing more from her soon.
Italian DJ’s and producers, Cristian Carpentieri, Guido Nemola and Chico Perulli aka Joyfull Family return to Piston with the excellent Lost Pleasures EP. This one follows their 2015 debut – Wish EP – which gained great support across the board. Ten years ago these guys got together to create underground tracks and house remixes. Their 2005 hit Da Breaker got plenty of airtime, notably through gaining top spot on various European charts including Pete Tong’s Essential Selection. They went on to remix for international stars like Corrina Joseph and Shawn Christopher as well as a remix for Cajmere and Dajae’s Brighter Days. In the last couple of years they’ve racked up a very impressive release count on several labels with their brand of deep and tech house hitting the spot for many jocks and clubbers alike. Nice to see them back for more at Piston.

Jakhira’s next outing on Piston is the delicious deep house groover Boston Rascal which comes backed up with two superb remixes from Rubba J and label boss Rogerio Martins. UK born but now residing in Belgium, Jack delivers a certain dynamic in his sound which captivates the listener. His musical roots spread far and wide with some serious bangers across multiple genres. More recently he has favoured the deeper, soulful side of house music while maintaining a presence in other styles. His last cut for us here at Piston was a fantastic remix on Demarkus Lewis – Sing It which grabbed a lot of attention. Much more to come from this outstandingly talented artist, stay tuned.
Piston firm favourite Marco Madia returns with his eighth production for us in the form of the fantastic Lemurs EP. One thing you will notice about all of his productions is the attention to the detail, ensuring a quality sound with every release. Marco has been in and around the underground scene for a number of years. In 2006 he moved to Berlin where he got a degree in audio engineering and soon started work as a sound designer. He also produces under the pseudonym Flip Morton and his experience has led to working on film soundtracks and exhibitions. His last outing – Toucan EP – proved popular and no doubt we’ll see more of the same here.
Prolific house music aficionado Rick Wade returns to Piston Recordings with his fourth slice of house music goodness for our listening pleasure. Detroit based Rick is highly revered in the industry for his dedication to the true purposes of house. Also known as Big Daddy Rick and Dr. Low-Tech, he has literally released hundreds of tracks throughout his career on almost 50 different labels since the mid 1990’s. He is also owner of Harmonie Park Records which specialises in deep house and has been running this label since 1993. Born just outside Chicago’s South Side he started spinning in the mid 80’s in the same club where Jeff Mills was cutting his teeth. From there he went on to run his own show on WCBN and gained a name for himself on the circuit to this day. His last outing here – Daedalus – was very well received as expected and we’ve no doubt this one will hit the floors in time for the Summer months.
Monog’s next release features label bosses Joal and Bruno Otranto alongside the talented Piermaria Chapus and their sublime The Landscape Is Fading EP. DJ and producer Bruno Otranto joined Monog as Joal’s partner in crime at the start of 2017, he brings a wealth of knowledge to the table with that same commitment and penchant for quality. Berlin based musician, composer, songwriter and producer Piermaria Chapus provides the vocals on this release, with great effect. A hugely talented artist in his trade he has worked alongside Joal in the past for material on Selador and no doubt we’re in for a real treat with this one.
