Rick Wade’s double hitter I Know Ur There and Seen Things gets the remix treatment from Piston label boss Rogerio Martins and the prolific Bicycle Corporation. Released back in Spring 2017, these two cuts performed very well indeed and we thought they deserved to be brought to the fore once again. House music hero Rick Wade is revered throughout the electronic music community. His career is an illustrious one, becoming involved in a fledgling house music scene in the mid 80’s. He spent his time working hard, DJing at parties, on radio stations and eventually turning his hand at producing music, a signature sound developed and the rest is history. An amazingly talented artist we just love having here at Piston.
Alessandro Sarsano returns to Piston Recordings with the superb three track Amnesia EP. The last time we caught this Italian house music maestro was back in 2016 when he gave us the excellent UndaFunk EP. From a young age he developed a passion for music and the visual arts. At 14 he started to take notice of the Hip Hop scene in his home city as well as starting to get into DJing. He understood that scratching and cutting was an important form of entertainment and this led to him generating a collection of vinyl ranging from funk to disco and pop to new wave. from here to collect discs ranging from funk to disco, from pop to new wave. In the late 80s and early 90s Italy experienced the house phenomenon and this appealed to him very much and brought him into contact with many DJ’s. He soon discovered the Balearic beat after a Summer in Ibiza and found that house music was his passion. Over the years he has played alongside the likes of Jose de Divina, DJ Oliver, Willie Graff, Tuccillo, Alfredo, Pippi, Jon Sa Trinxa and many more. Another fantastic cut from this guy and we’re glad to have him back.
Longstanding DJ and producer Victor Soriano debuts on Piston Recordings with the delicious house vibes of Novation EP. Victor is a multidisciplinary DJ with an extensive career that started towards the end of the 80’s. From then until now, his life has revolved around music, he has toured countless clubs, halls and parties throughout Spain and has released 7 albums, 2 remixes and 2 compilations. His chameleonic style is based on pure house music, from funky, soulful, disco to deep or tech-house he has the ability to adapt to any dance floor, always keeping his style and philosophy. A radio broadcaster, he has been in contact with the world of radio for 15 years. He currently mixes, produces, directs and presents El Camarote a specialized daily radio show that has more than 16 stations in 2 countries. 7 years of broadcasting have brought him into contact with the likes of Dennis Ferrer, Micky More, Felix Da Housecat , Franco de Mulero, Kiko Navarro, Tuccillo, Jocelyn Brown, Edmund, Cesar del Rio, Adam Moss, Ralf Gum and Nacho Marco. He is responsible for programming and content on Vicious Radio Valencia which is also where his El Camarote show is aired. Nice to have him on board, we know you’re gonna love his sound.
Jakhira is back at Piston with his third slice entitled Heartbreak which is backed up by two quality remixes. British-born, Belgium-based DJ and producer Jack Jakhira is a classically trained musician with a heart that beats to a groove. He is not bogged down into just one style, rather he embraces several styles which allows him to reach further and tap into his widespread influences. He has enjoyed several releases on Bonzai Progressive which ultimately led him to us where his last outing – Boston Rascal, was well received. Recently he joined forces with Manu Riga to form Long Garden Avenue and he also hosts his Unconditional show on Progressive Beats radio.
Portuguese producer Ricardo Cardoso aka Ritz debuts on Monog Records with the beautifully crafted Don’t You EP which features a super remix from Kobana. Ricardo has been making waves for a few years now and has seen releases on several labels. He’s fresh off the back of a banging release over at our good friends’ Piston Recordings label and, no doubt we’ll be seeing a lot more from him in the future.
Portuguese artist LUS debuts on Piston Recordings with the fantastic The Most Famous Classic EP. Since 2016 LUS has been churning out serious beats on various labels. Known for his deep house grooves, LUS is already a name synonymous with quality and we’ve no doubt this will continue for a long time. Delighted to have him at Piston.
Paris, France based artist Meda debuts on Piston Recordings with his Inside EP. Meda is involved in many projects around electronic music. Management of labels and organization of evenings rub shoulders with the musical production within several projects as well as his first passion, DJing. Musical and dynamic, his mixes allowed him to open the doors to famous clubs and evenings in France and abroad. Rex club, Batofar, Cocobeach, Red Villa, Electromind and Big Banf are just some of the parties he’s played. He’s been a producer since late 2011 and has collaborated with many artists such as Ian Pooley, Robert Armani, Johannes Heil, Antony Shake Skakir, Justin Berkovi and Kolombo with his tracks getting great support from big names on the world stage like Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Maceo Plex, Dave Clarke, Monika Kruse and Steve Bug to name just a few. Great to have him on board at Piston.
Lille, France based DJ and producer P.A.M.O. is back at Piston Recordings the fantastic Get It Crazy EP. This one marks his fourth outing here and his last slice – Coitus EP – gained great support across the board. With several releases on various labels, P.A.M.O. always brings his A game when it comes to deep house grooves.
Russian DJ and producer Tuneon aka Mikh Solvis returns to Piston Recordings with the impressive two tracker entitled We Don’t Learn EP. Tuneon’s music is based on many influences from 90’s style old school Chicago house and disco vibes to hypnotic tech grooves with a common goal, to rock the dancefloors. Always a pleasure to have him here at Piston.
Luis Ormeño joins forces with Jaair for their debut on Piston Recordings with the deliciously smooth Everybody Loves The Sunshine EP. 18 year old Luis is studying Music business, production and musical composition at Music College Peru and we think you’ll agree that he has certainly got an amazing talent that will definitely turn a few heads.
Maximiliano and Vincent debut on Piston Recordings with the fantastic The Traveler EP which features a sublime slice from the duo as well as a solo effort from Maximiliano. Relative newcomers to the scene, these guys bring a fresh twist on the tech house sound. Max already has several releases under his belt this year while Vincent marks this as his debut release. Both guys come from the DJing world and their sets have wowed many crowds over the years. Great to have them on board and no doubt we’ll be hearing more from them in the future.
Klaus Benedek marks his Piston Recordings debut with the impressive Never Get Out EP. Klaus grew up in a small town near Vienna. His interest in electronic music began during the 90’s techno hype. He spent hours watching video clips on MTV and viva, gaining knowledge about electronic music. In 2004, he began teaching himself to produce. Gathering his inspiration wherever he could, he began collecting 12″ vinyl records the same year and 2 years later got his first DJ gigs. From 2008 till 2010 he was one of the resident DJ’s at the MNML Thursdays in the Camera Club. In 2012 he started, along with Alex Kolodziej, the event series Tellerbetrieb. Currently he finds most of his inspiration in Chicago House, Deep House, Disco and Breakbeat. After releases on labels like Petrol Dollar, Subversaal, Rekooda, Soul Shift Music, Clean and Dirty Recordings and Tanzbar, Klaus launched his own label ForTunea in 2014.
Joyfull Family is made up of 3 like-minded Italian DJ’s and producers, Cristian Carpentieri, Guido Nemola and Chico Perulli and they return to Piston with the superb Mediterraneo. Ten years ago these guys got together to create underground tracks and house remixes. Their 2005 hit – Da Breaker got plenty of airtime, notably through gaining top spot on various European charts including Pete Tong’s Essential Selection. They went on to remix for international stars like Corrina Joseph and Shawn Christopher as well as a remix for Cajmere and Dajae’s Brighter Days. Their last outing – Keep On Dubbin’ EP – from Summer 2017 gained great support and we’ve no doubt this one will follow suit.
Belgian DJ and producer Marius Acke marks his Piston Recordings debut with the superb Tropical Island EP. In the early 90’s Marius was inspired by the grooves of Chaka Khan, De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, Bobby Brown and Masters at Work. It wasn’t long before he started DJing and thinking about making his own beats. He has been producing deep house on the Wally’s Groove World label and his album Balance was nominated for the Zamu awards. Marius also teamed up with WGW owner Koenie and bass player Rubba J. Together they form the MAYAKU collective, and have releases on labels like Grayhound, Outergaze, Tom Bone Vibratig Music, Heading Home recordings, Aroma and Wha roots? He also works alongside Rubba J on their Deepwater project and he regularly spins at various clubs including Café d’Anvers, Café Capital, Bar Tabac where you can always expect a deep, warm, groovy and driving DJ set.
