London, UK based artist Okubo returns to Bonzai Elemental with the sublime four tracker entitled Tsuki. We’re delighted to welcome this hugely talented artist back to Elemental. Alexandru Florea returns to Bonzai Elemental with the surreal Black Sea Horizons EP. In the mid to late 90’s, no internet and no social media in a small town, it seemed there was little prospects. Through childhood Alexandru felt electronic music was beyond his reach. He had to wait weeks on getting the newest releases he heard on the radio, but it was worth it. He was able to appreciate the music so much more and found great respect for the artists who locked themselves away creating a sound he loved. At the age of 15 he took piano lessons for three years and slowly started to compose and produce his own songs. 9 years ago he sent a demo to Bonzai Elemental and found satisfaction in getting a release. He started to appear on many chillout compilations alongside top artists in the scene. Now, after a bit of a hiatus he is back to playing around with hardware, experimenting, recording and enjoying making music once again.
The mysterious Subtle Substance debuts on Bonzai Elemental with two seriously chilled out cuts on Momentos. A warm and deep bassline lures you in as a rhythmic drum arrangement gets the booty shakin’. The vocals add sultry tones that work beautifully with the dreamy groove. Perfect lounge fodder that will not disappoint.

It’s been a while since we treated you to some chilled out sounds from Bonzai Elemental so we dug into the archives to bring you the very best from Finnish producer, DJ and remixer Miika Kuisma. Most of Miika’s works found their home on our Subtraxx imprint as well as a few on Progrez, Bonzai Elemental and Joof. Here, we’ve selected 10 beautifully crafted cuts that will take you on an inner journey leaving you fulfilled and open minded. Ambient is something Miika does very well, he has been heavily influenced by some of electronics greats, notably Cosmic Baby, Jam & Spoon, Jarre and the early days of Eye-Q. His usual style is that of progressive melodic trance, not too deep and not cheesy. Miika is big into technology and philosophy and it is that mind that creates awesome soundscapes for our ears. So sit back and relax to these beautiful sounds.

Lunakid has been electrifying people since 2012 with his brand of electronica, techno and punk. He has seen his music released on the likes of Klinik Room, Record Union and Ego Shot. The Original Mix of Epic opens with a fading in pad that creates a rich atmospheric sound which is soon joined by other ebbing and flowing sounds. A thick punchy kick drum delivers a breaks style beat that compliments the evolving soundscape beautifully. The track picks up an ethnic vibe along the way which is filled with melodies and enchanting voices. Wonderful stuff.
