Narel returns to Green Martian after a bit of a hiatus with the superb album Losing Adequacy. We last saw this hugely talented artist with The View At 2 AU back in 2014. But, since then he has shown up on remix duties for Alfonso Muchacho’s Darkosaur on Bonzai & Friends 500. Melbourne based Narel aka Nick Simmons became fascinated by electronic music after hearing Jean Michel Jarre’s Oxygene aged 5. At 15 he began experimenting with+samplers and sequencers and in time+added synthesizers to his setup. What was a hobby became a bit more serious in 2010 when his first tracks were released on the Bonzai Progressive imprint Fourty 5. After over 30 releases+across multiple labels his first album is finished and more original tracks are remixes are always in production. The Narel sound is rooted in oldskool progressive, progressive house, ambient and downtempo.
Iga Dep returns to Bonzai Progressive with the fantastic two tracker Fat Analog which comes with remixes from two hugely talented artists, Stan Kolev on Fat Analog and Van Czar on Arctic Human, as well as original mixes for both tracks. Iga Dep is fresh off the back of his debut for BP – Indigo – which proved popular among many having charted very well indeed and getting a run out from many jocks. No doubt this one will follow suit, we just love it here in the office.
Mexico City native Dorian Padilla aka DJ and producer Doriaan debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the superb Buffet Froid which also features two solid remixes from no less than two dynamic duos. A lover of all things progressive, Dorian has seen several releases gain some great support and his latest solo effort – Icing – is no exception. Great to have him on board and we hope to see more in the future.
Mike Morales returns to Piston Recordings with the superb Come With Me EP. We last saw Mike under his Mi Ke moniker back in 2016 with his 214 EP which performed very well indeed and no doubt this latest effort will follow suit. Mike is a force to be reckoned with on the house scene as he’s been around for quite some time. He is heavily influenced by Portugal’s infamous underground scene and his name began resonating amongst established DJ’s and artists. His debut track – Dream Shattered, premiered on Digweed’s Transitions radio show in 2003 and since then he has continued to churn out top quality vibes.
Italian DJ and producer Mirko Gorelli is back at Piston and is joined by fellow country-man, DJ and producer Pierpaolo Pierotti on the superb Bassone UK which is backed with Pump Up The Bass. Mirko’s last outing was back in 2016 with Travel which proved popular among many. Delighted to see him back at Piston as we just love what this guy does with music. Pierpaolo Pierotti spent his adolescence listening to house music between clubs and music cassettes. His journey begins as P.R. and event organizer leading him to work with some of the best Italian clubs including Aqva Discovillage Numana, ECU Rimini, Syncopate and Prince Riccione.
Club Traxx returns with another round of sublime cuts that will get the temperature rising in any late night session. Breaks 4 comprises an eclectic selection of alternative grooves to keep the big beat sets flowing with intensity. Tracks and remixes from the likes of Gai Barone, Airwave, All Species, Jamie Baggotts, Satinka, Pinch, A-Mase, Time Wave, Atrium Sun, Phi Phi, Audio Noir, Manu Riga, Suduaya, Platunoff, Blufeld, Yuriy From Russia, Chris Oblivion and many more will make sure that the breakbeat thirst is quenched, and then some. A definite must for any serious collector.
Progressive house gurus Roddy Reynaert and Phi Phi return to Bonzai with the sublime two track EP entitled Tempora. This formidable duo have been churning out some serious beats over the last number of years and their last Bonzai Progressive outing – Aokighara – proved popular among many due to its squelching acid appeal and deep progressive grooves. A wealth of experience and creativity was the catalyst for these two striking up a solid partnership which has resulted in several quality cuts. Phi Phi is certainly doing the rounds and spreading his vast knowledge of all things electronic music. He’s involved with other collaborations as well as solo works and he remains a much sought after DJ, particularly for retro events. Roddy also thrives as a soloist, his tracks are supported around the world and his unique blend between progressive and house is very much revered. It’s always an exciting time when these guys get together and we’re sure there’ll be much more to come, so stay tuned.
Madrid based artist Jesus Gonzalez aka Jacob Singer returns to Bonzai Progressive with the superb Marduk which features two top notch remixes from Sonsez and Cryss. Jesus made his BP debut back at the start of 2017 with the impressive My Inner EP which saw some great support among many. A veteran on the progressive scene he has churned out many noteworthy releases on various labels. A master of his craft, we’re delighted to have him back.
Italian DJ and producer duo Riccardo Lippi and Marco Bottari make up Stranger Boys and they debut on Piston Recordings with the superb two tracker – Industry. Stranger Boys also known as Strangers Boys was brought to life in 2013 by Riccardo aka Ricky KK as a project to in electronic music, particularly tech house, minimal, deep house and techno. In the beginning he saw the project as a solo effort but with the idea of integrating new artists with similar interests. Towards the end of 2015 Marco Bottari joined and things started to get interesting for the pair. In 2016 they played for the first time together on Ibiza Radio before several releases came out on various labels. Lots more to come from these guys, well worth keeping an eye on.
Smokin Us aka Italy based artist Kenneth Nshuti debuts on Piston Recordings with Love U – a delicious two tracker that delivers a solid slice of house music for our aural pleasure. Over the last couple of years this guy has been churning out quality cuts on several labels and, he commands a lot of attention for his delivery of sound that always generates a positive vibe. Delighted to have him on board.
Serbian DJ and producer Vlada D’Shake returns to Bonzai Progressive with the superb four tracker entitled Mesmerising. His debut for Bonzai was back in 2015 with Friday Night and since then he has shown up on guest mix duties on our Bonzai Basik Beats radioshow among other things. Since 2011 this guy has been churning out top quality cuts on various labels including Balkan Connection, Juicebox Music, Mistique Music and Stripped Digital to name just a few. His tracks are regularly picked up and featured in the sets of some of the world’s best known jocks. This is a testament to the quality and style this guy offers and judging by his already extensive discography, it’s no real surprise. With four tracks on offer here we’re treated to some tasty moments that are sure to rip up the floors at any venue. Nice to have him back once more and we hope to see more in the future.
Slovenian DJing Quicker Balance mark their Piston Recordings debut with the fantastic two tracker Feel The Melody. This talented pair have a passion for music and are still experimenting with different styles and concepts. They’ve always admired other artists, shown great respect for their music and the dedication their peers put into writing music. Their style is diverse to say the least, itis a mixture of raw beats, influenced by soul, jazz and funk. Listening to their music will put you in many places within your mind, we like to envisage a sun soaked terrace with a cool drink and a partying crowd. Great to have them on board and we hope to see more soon.
Argentinean DJ and producer duo Agustin Dutari and Mauro Mosciaro debut on Piston with the tech house fuelled three tracker Behind The Beat. These guys are two clear examples of how Argentinean dance culture is shifting and moving, especially towards the rhythms of house. In the studio they combine their skill sets to produce only the finest quality beats and grooves. Agustin utilises his DJ skills, which he has presented at top clubs including Pacha, Ibiza and in showcases for Ibiza Global Radio. He has also travelled the beautiful Balearic Islands playing at different beach clubs and bars such as Sands, Delano, White, Magic Boat Party and Veto Social Club. Mauro combines his career as a music producer with DJing. He runs his own studio and when he’s not laying down house laden beats he’s working with bands and solo artists as a sound engineer. Working together for the last couple of years they are able to hone in on each other’s ideas with some very nice results indeed. A rising force in the South American scene and beyond, this duo is well worth keeping an eye on.
Breeder’s groundbreaking trancer “New York FM” a.k.a Sputnik finally gets a re-touch for 2017 and what a remix this is! Rise And Fall takes the best elements of the original and does what he is best at wrapping it up into his trademark slow building progressive madness! Huge riffs, powerful low end, crisp and clean drums, tight production and bags of energy – the track has it all! A proper update of the legendary classic that has been long awaited!
Spanish DJ and producer Adrian Roman shows up on Bonzai Progressive with the superb three tracker entitled Giro. We first got a taste of this guys sound back in 2015 on our Progrez imprint with Reverse, which was very well received indeed. From a young age Adrian was interested in music, he took guitar lessons at age 8 before he started to listen to electronic music. He became interested in DJing and got hold of the tools needed to hone his skills. Production soon followed and he became fascinated with creating something from scratch. Great to see him back and no doubt we’ll be seeing more in the future.
