Tali Freaks returns to Bonzai Progressive alongside Al Martino with Sitheru’s Chant. Tali Freaks grew up influenced by his father’s music knowledge and from the age of nine, studied the piano for 4 years. At 16, he started DJ’ing in a small club in Capri, the start of his DJ career. He started producing music with his own equipment in 1994 and then after a few years he was offered to go to work for a record company in Naples, Bustin Loose Records, run and owned by the actual Planet Funk. He has seen releases on a plethora of labels including Piston Recordings, She’s Super Records and many more. He enjoys collaborating and has worked with a host of top artists. Al Martino debuts here at BP and he has worked with Gerardo on several occasions in the past. The two seem to have an electric chemistry and they always churn out the goods, great to have him on board.
Inessa returns to Bonzai Progressive with the superb Jeriba and this one follows hot on the heels of her debut here called Iguana Love. Half Austrian and half Tunisian, Inessa has been in love with electronic music since a very young. Primarily involved in the scene before as a dancer, and due to her Tunisian heritage, she emphasizes on groove, beats and a deep vibe often accompanied by mellow organic synths or other instruments. She started raving and breathing the sound in the late 90’s when Techno become a movement with the Berlin Love Parade. She sees herself as a world citizen, who is deeply inspired by her journeys and the people that come with it. She lived in Paris, London and New York City while finishing her studies. At the moment she resides in Vienna, Austria, where she founded the label Leisure Music Productions. She is an organizer of various electronic events and also a DJane. In terms of electronic genres, she is mostly intrigued by organic vibes in Deep House, Progressive House, Deep Tech and Melodic Techno as well as Afro House. Her style can be described as very warm and deep but one thing is for sure. making music for her is a means of expressing her love to dance and to enjoy life in all its beauty.
Katarina Dariy joins us at Bonzai Progressive with her debut track titled Find Yourself. Katarina is an emerging deep house and melodic techno DJ, producer from Kiev, currently based in Antwerp. Being raised in a family of musicians, there was almost no chance for her not to follow her musical feeling. Guitar, piano, drums, and singing have all accompanied her throughout her nomadic life. Katarina’s interest in electronic music has its roots back in her teenage years, when rave culture in Kiev had only just started taking form as we now know it. But her aspirations became more tangible after moving to Antwerp. Her apartment was located close to the legendary club Cafe de Anvers, which gave her access to weekly inspiration from top artists. She started pursuing her DJ career in Antwerp clubs like Vaag and Flat-A, which resulted in her being invited to showcase her talents in Amsterdam, Ibiza, and Mykonos. Her decision to follow Electronic music production and audio engineering course at SAE institute Brussels led her to ghost producing. Guided by her Ukrainian heritage and freewheeling Ibiza spirit, she gives intense and electrifying experiences.
The on fire and very much in demand Rick Pier O’Neil returns to Bonzai Progressive with the fantastic Itzamna. Having started to DJ at just 14, he soon found he had an addiction to sound and went on to be a sound engineer building his first studio at just 16. Working with major labels he built a solid rep and gained Billboard success. Since 2006 he has delivered a vast amount of quality releases on top labels all over the world and his own RPO Records. He has also seen much of his work appear on many Bonzai compilations over the last couple of years as well as several remixes and original works which always gain great support. Always a pleasure having Rick here at BP, and we hope to hear more from him soon.
Andrew Topolsky and Sasha Vasilyev mark their Bonzai Progressive debut with the superb Placebo EP. A mysterious pair, we don’t know too much about them aside from the obvious talent they have for putting together quality progressive house music. No doubt we’ll learn more in the future, but for now, enjoy this fantastic three track EP.
Armenian DJ and producer Hovhannes Darbinyan aka Darbinyan makes the jump from one of our affiliate labels, Monog Records, to Bonzai Progressive with the wonderful Bad Timing. He has been passionate about music from a young age and in 2006 he started to produce his own sounds. House and Techno were his main styles and his first release was a remix on Chymera’s The Fathoms, released on Connaisseur Recordings. Several other releases followed on labels like Unknown Season, Muller Records, Prismat Recordings, Loup Blanc and Blossom Kollektiv Recordings. His tracks have gained support from many jocks around the world including Kevin Yost, Kaito, Chymera, Nicole Moudaber, Tensnake, Of Norway, Ame, Ian O’Donovan, Mije Van Dijk, Anthony Pappa, Jimmy Van M and more. Great to have him on board at BP.
Spanish artist Oscar Holgado debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the fantastic, Forms. Oscar has always been passionate about music and all it concerns. There came a time for him to capture all this love for music in his own unique productions. Releasing from 2012 on labels such as System, Baroque, Soiree, Balkan Connection and Piston Recordings among others, including his own imprint Symmetric Records which started in summer 2014. Since then, he has been busy developing his new sounds to deliver his own unique goodness to the masses, also working hard on his own label trying to deliver unforgettable sounds to take the dancefloor to another dimension. Great to have him on board.
Turkish DJ and electronic music producer Hakan Ozurun makes a welcome return to Bonzai Progressive with Shecko, which follows his debut here with the superb Leave It Be. He started his musical career as a progressive and trance DJ in 2010. After 3 years as a DJ, he found this was not enough for him and so he started making his own originals and remixes in 2013. He started producing and releasing his tracks professionally on Addictive Sounds in 2016. He has released music on BQ Recordings (Proton), Blue Soho Recordings and OHM Music. Some of his releases climbed many charts, including the Beatport top 100.
Night Shift Master aka Vlad Medvedev returns to Bonzai Progressive with his seventh release for us, the superb, Remedy, which follows his last stint here with Space Motion. Israeli DJ and producer Vlad has been churning out some tasty cuts over recent years. He is shaping his own sound with his unique signature of cosmically charged grooves standing out. He started to study in a music school when he was 6 years old. After completing his studies at the music school (focusing on Violin and Piano), he graduated from the music academy of his home town, when he was 16. While getting his B.A degree in audio technology and sound engineering, he produced music in the styles of Deep House, Tech House, Progressive House, Progressive Trance. Vlad has been also composing music for movies, commercials, performs as a DJ and participates in many other music projects. During his DJ sets, Vlad incorporates performance that are special and unique.
The ever impressive Koschk returns to Bonzai Progressive alongside four top artists who deliver brand-new remixes on his Speak My Mind EP. Koschk remains a firm favourite, with his brand of silky-smooth progressive house resonating well among other artists and DJ’s. With years of experience, comes the consistent output we’ve become accustomed to and, as a testament to that we just had to get these new remixes on board which do justice to the originals is the best possible way.
Fresh off the back of his last effort here with Dome, Rafa Alcantara returns with the fantastic, Radar which includes two solid remixes from Coss Bocanegra and BRVNNI. Also known as DJ Killer, Rafa is one of the most influential DJ’s in Spain having been instrumental in building the electronic music scene there. From the early 90’s he has been a constant presence on the local scene as well as playing on the world stage at top festivals and clubs. He co-founded Negritta Records in 2000 and quickly became noticed by the likes of Pete Tong who offered great support on BBC Radio 1. Great to have him back.
