Ultraverse aka Sasha Skiff debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the fantastic Astropilot EP which is backed up with two quality remixes from Cherry (UA) and Vitaly Shtrum. Sasha has had a very strong passion for electronic music since going clubbing in London. It was at Club UK where he knew he wanted to be a DJ and, influenced by Sasha & Digweed, Lee Burridge, Depeche Mode and others, he did just that. He moved to Dublin, Ireland and finished out his studies into sound engineering before embarking on his career as a music producer and DJ. He currently runs A&R for the popular BC2 Records and he has seen his music released on the likes of Pro B Tech, Balkan Connection South America, Mystique Music, Incepto Deep, OLD SQL Records, NUBE and Morninglory Music. Great to have him on board.
German DJ and producer Tom Wax returns Bonzai Progressive alongside fellow countryman Dan Hillson with the superb Don’t Stop. For Tom, this one follows his last effort Jippa Jappa while Dan is making his debut. Tom has always been a leading figure in the electronic music scene in Germany since 1988, he has also inspired a lot of DJ’s and producers around the world with his unique sound. After more than 25 years behind the DJ booth he is still on a mission as he releases tracks on labels such as Great Stuff, Toolroom, CR2, Bitten, Bush, Suara, Armada Deep, Toca 45 and Phuture Wax. At the height of the European techno and trance era, Tom was responsible for a vast number of classics under his Arpeggiators, Microbots and DJ Tom & Norman guises. His tracks found their home on R&S, Harthouse and Overdrive Records. He partnered with Thorsten Adler on AWeX and found international fame with It’s Our Future on Plastic City. Dan Hillson aka Hillson is a relative newcomer on the scene. He has several releases over the last few years on quality labels and his unique sound is something that is grabbing attention. Hopefully we will hear much more from him in the future.
We welcome Mendexx back to Bonzai Progressive with his latest effort titled Alcazar which comes backed up with a solid remix from Paul Hamilton. For the last 4 years Mendexx has been carving out a niche within progressive house and, he’s done this with a plethora of quality tracks here on Bonzai as well as other labels. He has achieved numerous Beatport Top 100 positions and several number 1 slots on other portals. He is quickly rising through the ranks and already he has caught the eyes and ears of many giving him a solid reputation on the scene. On the DJ front he has found himself playing at top venues in some of the worlds most exotic locations outing him among the best jocks. Always great to have him deliver new material.
Fresh off the back of remix duties for Bob The Groove’s My First Day Beyond The Sky, Night Shift Master aka Vlad Medvedev returns with the acid laden Code Red which is backed up with a superb remix by Manu Riga. Israeli DJ and producer Vlad started to study in a music school when he was 6 years old. After completing his studies at the music school (focusing on Violin and Piano), he graduated from the music academy of his home town, when he was 16. While getting his B.A degree in audio technology and sound engineering, he produced music in the styles of Deep House, Tech House, Progressive House, Progressive Trance. Vlad has been also composing music for movies, commercials, performs as a DJ and participates in many other music projects. During his DJ sets, Vlad incorporates performance that are special and unique.
We welcome Bob The Groove back to Bonzai Progressive with his fourth outing titled My First Day Beyond The Sky which is backed up with two solid remixes. This one follows his superb remix on Anthony Yarranton’s Meridian and proves once again that the Frenchman knows how to produce the goods. A mysterious character, Bob The Groove lets his music do the talking. He has seen releases on several labels over the years like AH Digital, Abstract Space Records, 238w, D&R Digital, Aeriform, Hydrogen and 3xA Music. As always, it’s a pleasure to have him on board.
Ivan Nikusev and Steiss debut on Bonzai Progressive with the superb Rising which is backed up with two solid remixes. These guys have been working together for a number of years now, boasting several releases on a host of labels with great support from across the board. Macedonian DJ and producer Ivan hails from the old school progressive scene and this one marks his full BP debut, he has appeared on a few compilations for us in the past and it’s great to have him on full release duty. In 2011 he founded OLD SQL Recordings which has built a solid artist and fan base across the world. His experience as a DJ took him to many countries and their festivals as well as guest spots on many radio shows. His own tracks have been championed by the cream of the crop and have been released on top labels including JOOF Recordings, Perfecto and Enhanced to name just a few. His friend and studio partner Steiss aka fellow countryman Daniel Trajkovski is more of a mysterious character who has worked extensively with Ivan in the past. He has also appeared on several labels and his distinct sound resonates through the scene. We’re delighted to have both guys here.
Following the hugely successful In The Mix 006, we are excited to bring you the next instalment, In The Mix 007 which features our very own music maestro, Airwave. Filled with over 2 hours of sublime progressive grooves, this double set takes us on an epic journey that builds and builds to a wonderful climax. For the longest time, Laurent Veronnez aka Airwave has remained a firm favourite in the trance and progressive scene as his army of fans will testify. With several studio albums, hundreds of releases and remixes under his many different guises, it’s no wonder he commands the respect of his peers. Laurent is also known for his modesty, integrity and genuine connection with his fans. For the last number of years, he has traversed the globe, delivering his unique, energetic DJ style to clubs and festivals. Recently he completed a whirlwind tour of Australia and, no doubt there will be more tours in the coming months. In the studio is probably where you would find him at his most creative. He carved out his sound over the years and in the last few months he has taken things on a lightly different direction, going deeper into the progressive sound. This was manifested on his latest release Bliss, which gained great support across the board. There is so much to talk about when Airwave is the subject, but for now we will let you enjoy the music.
Cherry (UA) aka Ukraine based DJ and producer Oleh Cherkes returns to Bonzai Progressive with the epic Hello. This will be his third outing here with his last effort titled Alma gaining great support. He also delivered a stunning remix on Gai Barone’s Flash which became a hot favourite among many as well as charting on Beatport. No stranger to the scene, Oleh has several releases on various labels and his music enjoys a lot of support from across the board. He is also known for his dynamic, building sets that always pleases the crowd.
Ukrainian DJ and producer Ruslan Haievyk aka MacroVision shows up on our Bonzai Progressive imprint with the superb three track EP titled Skyroom. Recently he debuted on Green Martian with Aurora EP. His love for electronic music started with The Prodigy which got him hooked. He also likes soft and powerful sounds with melodic parts. He has seen releases on several labels from across the northern hemisphere and he has won a number of music-based competitions in the last few years. His music has seen airplay on many radio stations including Kiss FM, DJFM, DFM and BBC Radio. His DJ sets are known to bring an energy to the floor and for being immersive and dynamic.
Switzerland based Bruno Kaufmann aka F-Act returns to Bonzai Progressive with the fantastic Detuned World. This one follows his excellent Disruption and that special remix of debut Yves Deruyter – Calling Earth as part of our special Bonzai Classics Remixed compilation. Bruno’s love for music is not very surprising as he was surrounded by instruments and technology through his childhood as his father was the owner of a music studio. His passion for electronic music was started when his father came home with the album Oxygene by Jean Michael Jarre, the futuristic sounds are fascinating to him until today. He proved his feeling for rhythm and music at the age of seventeen when he got his first DJ gigs. Since 1993 he has been producing music as F-Act, mostly as a hobby but in the early 2000’s he’s churned out a plethora of tunes on various labels with great support from around the world.
Bonzai legend Cortex Thrill returns to our progressive imprint with another stellar slice titled Eclipticum which features two mixes from creator Ivo T Montina as well as three solid remixes. From the sweaty darkened rave scene of the mid-nineties, Cortex Thrill has stood the test of time and evolved their sound while utilising the cutting-edge technology of the day. In its contemporary form, that sound has bridged the gap between progressive and tech resulting in a hybrid genre that is unique and inspiring. Ivo’s previous outings here in recent years have certainly lived up to that and we’ve no doubt we’ll be seeing much more in the future.
Swiss DJ and producer duo BR!TCH debut on Bonzai Progressive with the superb three tracker Fallout. The project began with a great friendship between François Renevey and Jérémie Perreaud who decided to get together in 2015. They soon began to play DJ sets in different Swiss clubs and festivals including MAD Club, Globull, Free4Style and more. Alongside their live performances, the duo also worked actively on music production releasing original tracks on various respected labels such as Istanbul Records, Plasmapool or the legendary, NYC based, King Street Sounds (Nite grooves). Their releases stand out with a unique sound that combines groove from the club culture and melodic chords. 2018 is full of promise with different releases on Synox Digital and Ensis Records among others. Great to have them on board here at BP.
Fanizza and Andrew Cash join forces to deliver the superb Galaxia. Fanizza aka Fausto Fanizza has been a prominent figure in the dance music scene for many years now. He teamed up with Thomas Schwartz for their Bonzai debut with Mbira as well as forming the hugely successful Starchasers back at the turn of the millennium and since then he’s racked up a very impressive catalogue under various guises. His works have appeared on several top labels and his music is consistent with pure quality and inspiration. Italian native Andrew Cash aka Sunlight Project returns to BP alongside Fausto for his full debut after first appearing here on the remix for Mbira. Over the last number of years, he has carved out a solid niche in the narrow gap between trance and progressive. Known for creating dreamy, uplifting melodies and steady basslines, his works have gained a great deal of support from top jocks and artists alike including Paul Van Dyk, Manuel Le Saux, Dash Berlin and Armin Van Buuren.
Andrew Lewis is back with his latest offering titled Captivate EP which comes hot on the heels of his remix for Anthony Yarranton’s Meridian from just a few months ago. This one marks his fourth outing for us at Bonzai Progressive – as well as a few remixes – and each time he manages to blow us away with his creative skills. Andrew has almost two decades of experience. He started out in progressive music and quickly found a niche with his sublime sound. He also has releases under Se7enth Fury, Grammaton Records and Sold Soul Records and he continues to make a big splash in the industry. He combines a deep knowledge of various genres along with solid DJ skills which is why we’re always excited when he delivers new material.
Thorin is back at Bonzai Progressive with the superb Let go which features his outstanding original as well as two quality remixes. It’s been a while since we’ve had a full release from this guy, he has provided solid remixes in the times since his last full cut – Secrets. Despite the hiatus he remains consistent in delivering top notch sounds, something we’ve become accustomed to from him. As ever we’re delighted to see him deliver the goods once again and we have no doubt we will be seeing much more.
