Stardust is the newest single from Steve Sai. We last saw Steve with his hugely impressive White Fluffy Clouds back at the end of 2013 and then shortly after with his remix on Crocy’s – Cry. Stardust comes with the Original plus four top quality remixes from some of the hottest artists on the Bonzai books.

The Original Mix oozes deep progressive grooves right from the off as cool punchy kicks are set against a brilliant pulsating bassline. Perfectly placed sub bass shots enhance the sound beautifully with various other synths layered on top resulting in a pumping groove. Steady flowing rhythms are formed out of tight drum and percussion patterns that give the track that driving surge. The break reveals some cool distant arps alongside dark edged pads. The big hitter comes in the shape of melancholic pianos that keep the track well within its progressive sphere. Superb stuff yet again from Steve, not to be missed.

Fresh off the back of his last release Big and Small EP, Belgian DJ and producer Ben Solar is up first to remix duty. The intro boasts nice chunky kicks that are soon joined by crispy sharp hats and cool synth shots. A deep rolling bassline bubbles up from below and takes us by surprise as the full power of its thump is unleashed. Layers build smoothly with the addition of metallic sounding FX that adds stark contrast to the deeper edge of the sound. Strong and driving track that will be a big player in any of the deeper sets.

DJing and production duo Jon ManimaL & Magros aka metrONomes take a break from sister label Progrez and deliver a stripped down smooth ride through deep progressive sounds with their superb Hypnotic Remix. The percussive led intro sets the scene perfectly as flat kicks are joined by various percussions and atmospheric FX. The kicks develop a punch and the groove gets into full swing as the bassline begins to form up into a real groovy mover. A dark and long drawn out bass drone hypnotises alongside those stark piano riffs that give a surreal melancholic feel to the sound. Brilliant stuff from the guys, top notch.

Athens based DJ and producer John Tsamis is welcomed at Bonzai with his brilliant remix. John began DJing in Athens at small parties with his friends which led to playing bigger events with top names. In 2005 he got his own residency at Stereo before moving on to the bigger Luv Club. 2014 saw his first releases on Baboon Recordings with much more to come. The track intros with sharp hats and a long released kick that has a smooth bass edge. Percussions build nicely and provide a solid rhythm for the track to progress. Quirky vocal one shots peek through on the first break as a riser brings with it a thumping kick and a super low end bass that reverberates through the sound wonderfully. The main break unleashes a melancholic piano riff that adds a cool twist and so much character to the track. Great stuff.

Big and brash synths with a powerful bass driven groove is what the Alex Sense remix is all about. Alex is a newcomer to the Bonzai stable and no doubt this remix will make a huge impression. Based in Athens, Alex began to DJ around 1990 after he was introduced to a bit of Psy Trance. Soon after, in 2000 he set up 6thSense LTD and started to manage, produce and promote events among other things. Since 2009 he has seen releases on Movement Recordings, Micro Digital Records and Audiophile Live. The remix intros with a nice chunky kick with minimal percussions coming through. The percussions build smoothly and soon they are joined by a super punchy bass that will have any floor on the move. Big synths sweep by and give the track a purely deep streak which is further enhanced with top quality FX. The break plays on the melancholy of the original beautifully as deep piano chords are contrasted with bright arps. Strong and driving grooves for the darker rooms that will go down a storm.
