Ruslan Vashkevich delights once more with his latest offering Blind Man’s Shine which comes backed up with two superb remixes from Jonny Calypso and Experimental Feelings. 2016 has been a busy one for Ruslan here at Bonzai, not only has he offered aural pleasure with Perfect Choice and Crystal Jelly, he’s also been responsible for some top notch remix work. This guy just keeps getting better and better, always one to watch.
The Original Mix is beautifully crafted insight into the progressive world that leaves you wanting more and more. A smooth steady flowing rhythmic drum arrangement keeps the track moving as a deep bass meanders through the low end shoring up the groove. Soft melodies creep in and sit perfectly with an array of quality FX and swirling pads. The break whittles down to just pads and FX alongside a cool spoken vocal before slamming right back into full on mode for the duration. Another fantastic slice from Ruslan that is not to be missed.
Jonny Calypso is up first on remix duties and it’s been a while since we last saw Jonny round these parts. His last outing was on Bonzai & Friends Remixes and since then he has shown up on our Bonzai Basik Beats Radioshow where he offered up a sublime mix. Here he takes us into the tech house world with his effort. Punchy kick drums lead the way as shuffling percussions form up delivering a solid and steady rhythm that is sure to get the feet on the floors. A deep bassline rumbles through the sound as subtle melodies begin to peek through the lower frequencies. This one just build and builds into a fantastic full on stomper, a definite must have track for those late night sessions.
Spanish DJ and producer Toni Gonzalez aka Experimental Feelings returns for remix duty after his very well received Paradise Sound (Green Martian) and delivers another one of his super fine progressive house cuts that will no doubt grab a lot of attention. A very much respected and reliable source of quality material, Toni continues to produce the goods on a regular basis with not only his own works but with lots of top notch remixes, just like this one. Here he takes us deep, he brings the spoken vocal from the original to the fore giving the track a wonderful character. Chunky kick drums and bright crispy hats stand out and lay the foundation for a superb raw sounding bassline that carries a sharp edge to toughen things up a bit. Soft cascading melodies are picked up and bring a cool contrasting texture to the groove. Excellent stuff once more and the perfect tool for any set.
