Chris Harris makes his full debut on Bonzai with the superb What’s Left Of Them and is fresh off the back of his debut remix on Nico Parisi’s Napoli By Night. Chris comes to Bonzai with 20 years experience within the music industry. He started his music career in 1992 as a bass player in a local band before turning his hand to DJing in 1994. As a DJ he was known for playing all genres of dance music from House to Happy Hardcore at clubs, various private parties and events but always had a love of Trance and Progressive. He soon got the writing and producing bug and had his first release on Transport Digital with Lost In The East. We are excited to have Chris on board and look forward to tapping into his vast experiences.
The Original Mix intros with a wonderful thick kick and a pulsating bass that oozes energy and drive. Percussions slowly make their way into the sound as a distant arp rises up in the background. Teasing melodies wander in and out and take us up to the break where a fantastic riff takes hold before we are thrust back into the full driving force of this energetic progressive monster. Top notch debut and a track that is not to be missed.
Canadian DJ and producer Onez!e is up first to the remix plate with his superb offering.
Onez!e recently showed his skills on his debut Green Martian release with This Is Dream. Here he applies those skills again with impressive results. Smooth muted kicks lead the intro as a far off synth catches up. Crispy hats bring the percussions into the fray before the kicks are given a huge punch. The track breaks briefly and soon comes back with a fantastic warm bass that walks across the sound beautifully. The track settles into a driving progressive groove with that bass taking full control as perfectly measured melodic riffs add a hypnotic edge to the track. Big hitter for sure which will turn a few heads.
Italian DJ and producer Matteo Monero is next up on the remix. Matteo is a stalwart in the progressive scene having appeared on top labels. We last saw Matteo on remix duty for Audio Noir’s Revelation back in 2013, good to have him back at the controls. Here the remix sets off with a cool atmospheric vibe as dulled metallic clanks join forces with smooth percussions. Nice and chunky kicks are added giving the track a driving surge. The bassline soon commands as it resonates right throughout the sound with a beautiful lush undertone. High quality FX work adds cool textures and upholds that atmospheric vibe. Deep and dark grooves with subtle melodic flavours that will have any floor pumping.
