The Vox EP

Piston Recordings PR2015154 6 April, 2015

Hurlee returns to Piston with the two tracker, The Vox EP. It’s been a while since we last saw this talented Spanish DJ and producer, it was way back in 2013 when he delivered his debut Dancing With You EP. Great to see him back and we look forward to more in the future.

First up we have The Vox with its classic styled intro featuring chunky big kicks and sharp cutting hats. A deep pulsating bass joins in and takes the track to a deeper level with the help of some smooth, warm strings alongside a real cool urbanized vocal. The tight drums keep the rhythm in check and provide the perfect fodder for a packed dancefloor. On the break that vocal stands out perfectly against the downward spiralling chords before we are thrust back into the main sound with a rolling drum build up. Superb stuff that is not to be missed.

Two Souls intros with a cool arrangement as a punchy kick sits alongside a tight scattering of snares and various other drums. A deep bass cuts through the sound and dominates with its luring grooves while a fantastic female vocal sings out in true deep house style. High strings contrast with the warm bass sounds and cool chords which gives off a nice dancey vibe. An expertly crafted track that will add a bit of bounce to the floors for sure.
