Bonzai Progressive BP8982019 16 December, 2019

Stradivalli debuts on BP alongside our very own stalwart, Night Shift Master aka Vlad Medvedev, with the superb Space Motion which is backed up with remixes from Cortex Thrill and Ricardo Piedra. Ukraine based Stradivalli is proving to be an immense talent, and has already secure releases on various labels, working with Vlad on other projects also. Israeli DJ and producer Vlad is no stranger to these shores, his last outing for us titled, Gravity proved popular among many. He first started to study in a music school when he was 6 years old and, after completing his studies, focusing on Violin and Piano, he graduated from the music academy of his home town, when he was 16. While getting his B.A degree in audio technology and sound engineering, he produced music in various styles. He has also been composing music for movies, commercials, performs as a DJ and participates in many other music projects.

On the Original Mix, we’re treated to a sublime, building groover filled with contrasting elements and mesmeric qualities. Tight beats lead the way as tribal fuelled percussions weave detailed patterns. Dark voices emerge adding weight to the low end where a powerful, dancing bassline resides. Melodic arps begin to stack up and on the break the energy levels rise, culminating in a fiery climax and into the full-on finale.

Another stalwart from our roster is up on remix duties. Croatian artist Ivo T Montina aka Cortex Thrill returns after his last effort, Eureka. Ivo is an artist who is adept at producing quality music, playing at parties, doing promotional tours etc. He got his first break with Bonzai back in the early nineties and Cortex Thrill tracks soon became synonymous with the sound of that era. He has amassed an impressive release count for us and we’re always delighted when he sends over his latest works. Here, the remix opens with a bright, sparkling melodic phrase before muted kicks and shuffling hats come through. A chugging bassline takes over as cosmic FX and cascading arpeggios layer up. A superb main hook emerges, slicing through the darker elements and sending a wave of energy through the track. A definite must have, no doubt.

Ricardo Piedra is next on the remix and this one comes hot on the heels of his last remix for Yuriy From Russia & Hidden Tigress’ In The Twilight. Over the last few years Ricardo has racked up quite an impressive back catalogue across several labels, gaining a solid rep on the scene. He is a very much sought-after collaborator and everything he turns his hand to is sublime. Here, Ricardo delivers a solid interpretation, aiming for the floors with a burst of energy while retaining the mood of the original. A sturdy bassline holds up as shimmering arpeggios fill in the gaps as a rush of beats and percussions keep the rhythm flowing. The energy surges leading up to the break before leaving us reeling to this infectious monster groove.
