Set & Let

Leicester, UK based DJ’s and producers Aaron Taylor and Charlie Robinson make up Rue Duo. The guys are making their debut on Bonzai with full on prog house monster “Set & Let”, and with a slew of quality mixes which makes for an awesome package. Rue Duo have a few releases under their belts on labels like Black Hole, Straight Up and Wildlife with support from the likes of Erick Morillo, Tom Novy and Lucien Foort to name a few with more projects in the works for the future.

The original mix is a straight shooting prog house tune with a stunning vocal. Nice steady rhythms and a deep chunky bassline converge to give off a sense of depth with the vocal adding contrast. Cleverly arranged percussions and minimal synths make this tune stand out and is a sure fire winner on any floor.

Dark progressive maestro Manu Riga steps up to remix duties and completely transforms the original into something very different. Super punchy kicks intro this track with a brilliant bassline providing a strong groove. On the break we get a very subtle melody before thumping back into the main groove and that bassline, great use of the vocal also. A master of the darker side of prog at work, this is a tune that will be on many playlists.

Tech stalwart Crocy returns to the mixing desk with his remix. The track begins with a cool low end kick that builds to a bassline full of lush heavy vibes, coupled with a round of beautifully arranged percussions and backed up with more of this wonderful vocal. Top notch tech yet again from Crocy and a must have for any box.

Another regular Rishi K. is up next with a fine example of prog house. The vocal forms the most part of the intro before we kick right into a strong, solid groove made up of thick kicks and a round of metallic type percussions. Cool stabby synths weave their way throughout the track and a deep bassline props everything up beautifully, pure quality!
