Protect EP

Bonzai Progressive BP7642018 11 June, 2018

We welcome back Andrew Lewis to Bonzai Progressive with another superb effort in the form of his new Protect EP. Hailing from Scotland, Andrew is an electronic music producer with almost two decades of experience. This one marks his third outing here and is a fine example of his acute skills in the production world. He combines a deep knowledge of various genres along with solid DJ skills making him one to watch.

Protect gives us a solid progressive house workout making it perfect fodder for the more energetic floors. Thumping kicks greet us at the intro alongside slicing hi hats and a superb analogue style bass synth. Lush basses start to rise up as the groove intensifies and we hit the first break where a mesmerizing arpeggio lulls us into a more melodic vibe. The track really lifts off from here and we find ourselves heading for the stratosphere with every beat. An absolute stomper once again from this talented artist, not to be missed.

No Time heads straight for the four to the floor groove thanks to a nice punchy kick drum and pulsing bassline combi. Shuffling hi hats and rhythmic percussions form up to deliver a steady drum section while hypnotic notes enhance the groove. A real sense of nostalgia washes over the sound as Andrew takes us back by treating us to a sublime synth arrangement filled with cosmic arpeggios and stabbing chords. The main break offers up a classic string section that would put you right at the heart of an 80’s sci fi setting. The track soon gets right back into full on mode for the duration. This one is gonna rock out a lot of venues, no doubt.
