Meridian

We welcome Anthony Yarranton back to Bonzai Progressive with his superb track Meridian which is backed up with two solid remixes. It was back in 2013 when we last got a taste of Anthony’s progressive style here at BP, a string of remixes followed his well-received Cotton Candy EP. He has gained a lot of attention in a short space of time and, has been described as deep and impactful by his peers. His brand of deep, melodic progressive house has seen releases on labels like Armada, Proton, Baroque, Lowbit and of course Bonzai Progressive. Nice to see him back once again..

The Original Mix offers a mesmerizing trek deep into progressive territory. A constant note fills the background as a nice chunky kick drum delivers a solid thump. Shuffling percussions light up the rhythm as layers unfold. Amidst the brighter elements a deep, probing bassline warms the groove, driving the track while creating depth and texture. Ethereal melodies come through adding a dynamic flavour and making this a solid groover for the set builders.

Andrew Lewis returns to BP with a superb remix which comes hot on the heels of his last outing ? a remix on Crocy’s Mosquito. Andrew has gained a solid reputation for himself on the scene, his quality productions testify to this. Each release surpasses the last and you get a sense of the passion and work ethic from this guy when you delve into his sound. Always a pleasure to have him on board. Here Andrew proves once again just how talented he is with a seriously powerful remix. The intro is a subtle affair with the main focus on a pulsing bass note. Percussions and pads fill in before a superb kick drum that would fill any arena gets us moving. Gracious ahh vox and striking melodic synths collide to deliver a wonderful vibe that will most definitely translate to the floors.

French artist Bob The Groove makes a welcome return on remix duties. Last time out we got treated to some fine grooves on the superb My Bro Da Rastaman. BTG boasts a hugely impressive back catalogue comprising appearances on labels like AH Digital, Abstract Space Records, 238w, D&R Digital, Aeriform, Hydrogen and 3xA Music. Great to have him back for more. The remix here intros with a nice 808 style kick drum and wispy FX. A deep, captivating bass wastes no time in getting the groove moving. The bassline is rich and the note changes ? along with melodic pads – evoke euphoric feelings. The break is sublime featuring beautiful pads and soft arpeggios to the backdrop of that ever-present bass drone. The climax out of the break takes us back to a purely hypnotic driving progressive slice that will not disappoint.
