Kamatharu

Piston Recordings PR2014101 10 March, 2014

Spanish DJ and producer Juanma Llopis debuts on Piston with a nice deep two tracker entitled ‘Kamatharu’. Juanma is a lover of music and is able to turn his hand to various genres, but Deep House is where he mostly resides. His DJing has taken him all over Spain and in 2011 he took up producing his own music. Since then he has appeared on labels like, Joyfull Family Records, Sound Mass Records and Vandalism Musique.

‘Kamatharu’ intros with a real cool flat kick which is accentuated with crispy sharp hats, a superb vocal begins to fade through alongside a sublime house pad, this rises and rises before crashing into the main groove which will have floors rocking all over. A super deep groove ensues with very subtle bass and a mixture of quality vocal samples. A truly surreal journey through deep house and a track that would be a welcome addition to any set.

‘Maoh’ is up next and delivers a stunningly fresh deep house vibe. Nice and crisp hats work alongside a cool kick and as the track builds we see multiple vocal samples come through adding strong character to the sound. A very subtle yet highly effective bass sits back beautifully and allows some very smooth chords to take the attention. Swirly pads dominate the break taking the track to another level before we settle back into the solid deep groove. Top notch stuff not to be missed.
