In Da House

Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax aka Ivan Delgado and Christian Gomez are a DJ and production duo from Spain, the guys are debuting on Piston with this fantastic two tracker ‘In Da House’.

The guys are responsible for a huge amount of releases across many top labels including Susurruous Music, King Street, Soulman, Monog Records and Tip Tap Records to name just a small few. They have a dynamic partnership and their styles mix together very well, they both use as much of the classic analog sound as they can in their works, especially TR-909 and 808 as they try to bring a bit of classic Chicago House into the modern era.

The title track ‘In Da House’ sets us off on a truly sublime deep and groovy journey, the intro boasts a cool percussion line that is soon joined by a nice and full chunky kick that just takes over the sound. A deep rooted bass begins to form as the drum arrangement goes into full effect creating a solid rhythmic base. Warm keys come into play alongside a low and slow vocal sample which really stands out. The break reveals more of those surreal chords while continuing the percussion led theme of the track. Top stuff and a cert to draw a lot of attention.

‘Too Much’ goes into groovy overdrive and does it in style. Nice and steady intro with the kicks and percussions, a few very cool vocal samples come in the form of a sultry female voice and smooth male voice making for a fantastic contrast. The house keys on show are outstanding as they weave out a groovy pattern that takes over the track superbly as the bass sits in the perfect position.

A straight up in your face House stomper that will no doubt light up many floors!
