Debut appearance on Eyepatch for A & I with the superb four track Gems EP.
Opal sets off with a distant thunder effect that leads up to a warm and full kick and is soon followed by some cool percussions. Deep rooted and lush synth chords give a real depth to the groove as a grittier sub bass comes through. The break reveals a myriad of high strings that contrast beautifully with the deep vibe of the track and take us back into the main sound. Smooth deep house grooves for the late night parties and into the early morning.
Next up we have Amazonite with its sweetly melodic intro full of bright keys and arps. Beautifully crafted stabs join in and create a surreal atmosphere before percussions begin to get the rhythms flowing. The track holds its course and you find yourself wanting more and more as the layers are formed up and stripped back. Brilliant slice of deep chill that will set the scene perfectly for any set.
Jasper Red intros with a nice punchy kick and a cool mixture of different percussions that blend together beautifully. A deep, plucky bass gets the deep grooves going as a wonderful pad sweeps right through the sound. The bass and pads develop some very cool melodic phrases that make this an absolute pleasure to hear. On the break a superb chord comes through taking the track to a whole new level. Deep, laidback and groovy sounds for the late terrace parties.
Lastly on this superb EP we have Hematite Dub. Subtle percussions provide the intro and is joined by a soft pad that hovers in the air beautifully. A very cool dub styled stab gives off a reggae vibe alongside a deep plucky bass that reverberates through the sound wonderfully. Cool beats give that downtempo feel that can be enjoyed on lazy days or at the club. Classy stuff that is not to be missed.
