E.F.G. aka Oleg Szyszkin and Neptun 505 aka Marcin Stepien join forces for the stunning Followed By Eye on Green Martian. Oleg got into the electronic sound in the late 90’s through listening to the likes of The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim. In 2005 he got into Trance and Tech Trance before finding Techno and groovy deep basses. His aim is to merge these two worlds and ultimately define his own E.F.G sound. This journey has taken him far and wide with slots on many radio stations including Insomnia FM, Proton Radio and Houseradio. A part of the Electronic Tree Crew, he has also worked on many other labels. Marcin is no stranger to the GM stable, his last outing, Zulu EP which showed off his tribal style and was very well received. He has worked extensively with many artists over the years including many times with Oleg, they even debuted together back in 2008 with Trainman Of Switzerland. An exciting duo with plenty to offer and we hope to see more from these guys soon.
The title track, Followed By Eye, gets us moving with a smooth progressive house vibe that strolls along effortlessly carrying you along for the ride. The intro boasts a distant percussion and drum pattern as vibrato strings bring a rich sound. Tribalistic drum patterns emerge and get the rhythm flowing before a deep throbbing bass takes over the sound. Smooth melodic phrases are splattered across the sound beautifully and give a nice warm glow to the track. The break reveals a super sweet melodic sequence complete with rising strings and excellent voices that add a great character to the sound. The perfect remedy for the Winter months, this track will be hot ticket on the floors no doubt.
Mindtrip is aptly titled as right from the off we are attacked by a pounding kick with strange rising synths flowing through. A distinctive spoken vocal lurches out and the track breaks to reveal a surreal sequence of mixed sounds that really penetrate the mind. Those chunky kicks are joined by a round of slapped drums that bring a tribal element to the groove. On the main break, just when you thought the track couldn’t get any more trippy, we are faced with an ever rising wall of strings and pads alongside that deep voice which will blow your mind. A superb slice of mind melting prog here that is a must have.
