Chrome And Hearts EP

Based in Zagreb, Croatia, Active Line Six makes a welcome return to Bonzai with this fantastic EP. AL6 has been involved with EDM since he was 17 when he got his first residency at popular Croatian club Kulusic and this led him to play many gigs around the country. In 1995 he first got together with Bonzai at Dom Sportova when he played trance sets with the likes of Fly, Franky Kloeck and others. In the last few years AL6 began to produce and the results are brilliant. In 2012 he debuted on Basiks with “Requiem” and then with “Silent Dream” on Eyepatch.

First up is “Chrome” a very subtle understated techno vibe with a hypnotic rhythm. The track starts with a classic kick and offset bass overlaid with a simple yet very effective tone. A nice flow builds up on the percussion with a raft of quality FX keeping the vibe alive, a very cool short vocal shot drops in throughout to make for a top notch slice.

“Hearts” is a much brighter tune with the intro filled with crisp, sharp hats and some quality percussions. Again we see a FX put right into the mix at the right time which shows tight arrangement skills. The track builds slowly with the bass causing a transformation in the groove, a real techno/house hybrid that will fill those boxes for sure.
