Bonzai Basiks stalwart Sa.Du returns with another of his fantastic packages. This time around we have the four tracker ‘Breakfast’. His last outing ‘Field’ at the end of last year saw much support as always and no doubt this one will have heads spinning.
First up we get right into deep tech territory with ‘Breakfast’ as the intro boasts a nice chunky kick alongside some fantastic percussion drums and a scaling FX sound. The track builds nicely as the layers unfold and bringing an intense vibe along the way. The track’s construction is superb and you’ll find yourself coming back for more and finding new patterns each time. Great stuff yet again and a must for any deeper set.
‘Order’ is up next and intros with a stuttering bass and percussion combi. These begin to take shape with the addition of flat snares and rhythmic hats. The bass soon becomes infectious as it relentlessly drives on and the track lifts off with a nice big phat kick. Cool vocal samples are met with some very cool percussion patterns and expertly crafted FX. Energetic and intoxicating rhythms make this a definite hit in those deep tech sets for sure.
‘Spiritual Mind’ gets going with a truly surreal vibe as chunky kicks are coupled with some outstanding FX work and stunning percussion patterns. The bass sits perfectly underneath and allows the myriad of percussive instruments to do their job. Tight arrangements build solid rhythms along the way as the track evolves and becomes a monster of a tune. This is one hell of a hypnotic, epic journey through the deeper side of tech house and is not to be missed.
‘Understand’ rounds of this superb pack and does it in style. Right for the get go you will be locked into this groove as it mercilessly unleashes infectious grooves into your mind. A real driving feel to this as the bass just keeps on going with a little help from a fantastic drum and percussion arrangement. The break offer little respite as we are thrust into a surreal world full of melancholic strings and deep basses alongside cool vocal samples. The track dives right back into full on mode soon after and keeps us hooked to the end, brilliant stuff.
