Franky Jones returns to Bonzai on production duties with this tech house stomper “Belgium Goes Detroit”. Franky is considered with legendary status due to his huge DJ workload, but more so for his all time classic “The First Rebirth” as Jones & Stephenson. In recent years, apart from one of the most busiest DJ schedules around, he has also been busy with his own label Bangtraxx Records. Today’s release comes backed with three superb remixes to get those techno juices flowing.
First up is Belgian DJ and producer Redhead aka Steve Vangilbergen with his remix. Steve has worked with Marco Bailey and today he continues to deliver top quality cuts across different labels. Getting right to the point with a straight in your face techno groove, huge kicks and multi layered hats alongside a stunning bass and percussion section. The track holds its course perfectly creating a hypnotic rhythm and a stomping party tune at the same time.
Dutch DJ and producer Jan Liefhebber is next to the mixing desk with his remix. Jan is one of the stalwarts of the Dutch techno and has been since the early nineties. He set up Highland Beats label to showcase the techno and acid scene of the time with big success and today he still churns out quality vibes across many labels. His remix injects a dose of energy into the sound with a well rounded groove. Big chunky kicks are dominant alongside a raw bass. Multiple synth stabs are the perfect contrast giving this track the ability to rock any floor.
Belgian DJ and producer Nice Therapy delivers his 6AM in Detroit remix which sets a darker scene with an intense sounding arp tripping along the groove. The low end on the kicks will have the floors shuddering as they wield massive power. Deep basses rise from the depths and a stark contrasting, almost sweet melodic synth tries to pull the track into the light. After the drop you can settle in for one hell of a ride and lose yourself in this sublime rhythm.
Franky’s Original Mix is the intros with a strong thumping kick and sharp, crisp hat and clap combo. Percussions build in classic style and then a huge stab reverberates through the waves, all the while the bass creeps up and jumps right out into your chest as it pulsates a tough rhythm. On the break modulated synths take over with the bass refusing to let go and locking you firmly into its grip. The build up gets us right back into this awesome ride on the techno rollercoaster, superb stuff!
