Lio Q joins us at Bonzai Progressive with this fine debut slice titled Aedes which is beefed up by two solid remixes from Alex Vidal and Cortex Thrill. Lio Q was always passionate in all aspects of his life, that’s how he found music which quickly became a part of himself. in 2012 he began his career, seduced by the sounds of house and other genres before he found his way to progressive house. A young artist, his productions are characterized by an intense groove and harmonies. His works have received support from Henan Cattaneo, JOOF, Rick Pier O Neill and Danilo Ercole to name a few. He promises to keep growing and contributing the best he can. We’re excited to have this outstandingly talented artist here at BP.

The Original Mix wastes no time in locking us into the groove. Tight beats and a pulsating bassline lure us in as an intensity rises. A deep and murky moody track evolves with a sprinkling of tribal and tech influences. Amidst the murkier elements we find sweet melodic strings and that draw stark contrasts in the sound. The break captivates before returning to full on mode for the durations. A top notch cut that will not disappoint.

Spanish DJ and producer Alex Vidal returns to BP with a super remix. Alex found a passion for music at a very young age when he learned to play Spanish guitar and piano. He grew up listening a wide range of music from the 80’s & 90’s, the likes of The Cure, Depeche Mode, A-Ha, New Order, The Cult, Nirvana and Metallica, are just some of the bands that shaped his youth. He started to DJ in the early 90’s playing techno, trance & house in local clubs and private parties. Here on the remix Alex shows us once again his outstanding skill as a track builder. Classic style kick and hi hats form the intro before short pulsing bass notes line up against a rhythmic drum section. Gritty synths fade in as the bass gets beefed up into thick and warm probing monster. Distant pads lure us in and on the break melodic synths break through before returning to chugging mode once more. Excellent stuff that is not to be missed.

Ivo T Montina aka Cortex Thrill delivers yet another sublime slice on remix duties. A veteran on the scene, Ivo has been around for decades and remains at the forefront of the underground scene while foraying into clubland with special live performances. A part of the Bonzai family since the early nineties, Ivo has enjoyed great success as a producer and as a DJ. Still much more to come from this guy and his Cortex Thrill project so stay tuned. On the remix here, we’re treated to solid intro as subtle percussions and a mesmerizing pulsating bass grab our attention. The track bursts into life as the drum section comes online alongside that amazing infectious bassline. Sweet melodic slithers cut through the deeper elements making this one an absolute must have that will tear up the floors no doubt.
