A New Opportunity

Spanish DJ and producer Toni Gonzalez aka Experimental Feelings returns to Bonzai Progressive with the superb A New Opportunity which follows his epic remix on Koschk’s True Romance from earlier this year. Toni has been churning out quality cuts for us across our main imprint and Green Martian as well as a host of other works including remixes and appearances on various compilations. Toni’s productions regularly feature in many sets from DJ’s around the world and it’s no surprise given his extensive back catalogue that spans many labels. So much more to come from this guy, well worth keeping an eye and an ear on.

A New Opportunity gets moving with a pacey beat and a mesmerizing, rich pad. Shuffling hats are joined by sporadic percussions to form a smooth rhythmic flow as snappy snares hit the down beat. A deep, rumbling bassline shores up the low end as those pads infect the senses. Subtle melodies lace the groove as a darker, gritty sequence begins, contrasting with the brighter elements. A superbly crafted, deep and powerful progressive house joint that will not disappoint.

Fight is up next and settles us into a wonderous, hypnotic journey filled with an array of rich sounds. A nice, solid, punchy kick leads the way alongside cool percussions which are layered beautifully for maximum effect. The bassline is pure, raw and deep, it captivates and holds us for the duration while sprinkles of cosmic melodies float overhead. The break features a dark spoken vocal that dishes out a gritty narrative before we head back to the main groove. An outstanding piece and a definite must have.

Groovy basslines and airy pads form the basis of the next track, Nature. The intro reels us in with ease as chunky beats and intriguing pad sequences combine. A beautiful organic groove manifests as the bassline moves into prime position with its hypnotic prowess. An otherworldly atmosphere is born, captivating us with a blend of moody elements and melodic flavour. Sharp, plucked strings slice through the sound on the break as the cinematic groove evolves around it. A top notch cut that will be a welcome addition in any late set.
