NATALIA DATA & ED LEE – MAGIC POD (GREEN MARTIAN)

Getting together for a second time we have a duo that work very well indeed. Natalia has enjoyed releases on Sounds Of Juan and Belak Records. UK producer Ed Lee returns to Bonzai after a successful remix of Wonji’s “Lord I’m Still Standing”, he also has enjoyed releases on Sounds Of Juan, Stripped Digital and Hype Muzik. Here the duo come up with a truly sublime slice of prog house on this 2 tracker.

First up is Ed’s remix of “Magic Pod”, nice pound on the kicks and the hats are just the right amount of crisp, steadily racing toward the superb bassline that dominates throughout the rest of the track. The break has a surprisingly sweet melodic sequence with a lush pad and nice arps, the kick back takes us straight into more of this well worked groove.

“Quintette” has a more lighter feel, beautiful arps fade in and out, solid kicks and percs are joined by a surreal piano chord. On the break the tune turns gritty with a deep deep bass, settling in to a well paced hypnotic journey.
