Russian music artist Montw aka Stanislav Prokofiev debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the outstanding Nocturnal. He was born and still lives in Moscow and became interested in electronic music in 2005. He likes to try different styles but over time he has settled on a more dark progressive sound. He boasts an impressive discography on several labels including Mistique Music, 3xA Music, Clinique Recordings, Electronic Tree and Addictive Sounds. A wonderfully talented artist with lots more to offer, well worth keeping an eye and an ear on.

Nocturnal dishes out a fantastic deep progressive groove that keeps you coming back for more. Pumping kick drums and a shuffling hat sequence lead the way and are joined by cool percussive elements to deliver a flowing rhythmic groove. Atmospheric pads and FX litter the background as gritty basses and a driving main bassline take control. On the break we’re mesmerized by a wonderfully rich sequence that takes us back into full on mode for the duration. Excellent stuff and a definite must have.

Ethereal intros with a nice punchy kick drum and hi hat combi alongside an array of rhythmic drums and percussions. We find ourselves totally immersed right from the get go as a buzzing synth bass lures us in before a solid deep, bubbling bassline takes over. Subtle melodies play out in the background as the track breaks to reveal a wonderfully crafted hypnotic sequence. Just when you find comfort in those alluring melodies the main groove crashes back in, taking us deeper in the progressive abyss for the duration. A superb slice that will definitely find its way into many playlists.
