Madrid based artist Jesus Gonzalez aka Jacob Singer returns to Bonzai Progressive with the superb Ain Sof EP and this one comes hot on the heels of his previous stomper Marduk. Jesus made his BP debut back at the start of 2017 with the impressive My Inner EP which saw some great support among many. A veteran on the progressive scene he has churned out many noteworthy releases on various labels. A master of his craft, we’re delighted to have him back.
Ain Sof sets out with a solid chunky kick drum and cool shuffling hi hats alongside a hypnotic percussive sound coming out of the lower end. You get a sense of depth from the track even from the outset and, when the bass comes through we go deeper still. Contrasting pads and FX fill out the spectrum delivering a varied texture that intrigues while in the background melancholic melodies give us something else to ponder. The track gains a surprising intensity thanks to a mesmeric gritty synth and striking high string combi. A wonderful slice of deep prog for the late night sessions.
Conscious Awareness intros with a nice punchy kick drum and hi hat combi creating a pacey rhythmic sequence for the floors to indulge. Mysterious pads fade in before a superb deep bassline takes control. The big focus in this track soon appears in the form of a fantastic retro charged bass synth arpeggio which gives the track a classic vibe, a vibe you could easily get lost in while soaking up the amazing atmosphere it creates. Listen to this and learn how to feel music, you will not be disappointed.
