After their much-revered collaboration on Melancholia EP from 2017, Following Light and K.Oshkin get back in the studio once again with the fantastic Return To Sources. Ukrainian born Kirill Guk aka Following Light has remained a constant force in the progressive house world since 2010 having released quality music on a vast selection of labels. His music continues to feature heavily in sets across the globe and he has worked with some top artists along the way. In recent years he has been delivering the goods here at BP and we’ve no doubt he will continue his super run of form. K.Oshkin aka Konstantin Oshkin has racked up an impressive discography that focuses in on quality progressive sounds. His work has been released on various labels including Incepto, Sleepless Nights Recordings, Inmost Records, Aeriform Records and Balkan Connection to name just a few. On top of that he has worked with a raft of top producers and he continues to impress with his forward-thinking ideas and sounds.
The Original Mix intros with some very nice tight drums and a bubbly bassline alongside cool shuffling hi hats. Rich pads float in the background creating a surreal atmosphere as cascading notes dance playfully through the sound offering sweet melodies in a quirky trance flavour. The break amalgamates these sounds beautifully into a colourful tapestry that lifts the mood easily. A very nice slice that will be a welcome addition in your crate.
Alan Ibanez joins us at Bonzai Progressive for his debut remix. Since 2007 Alan has been wowing crowds with his superb sounds that incorporate several genres into ethereal, atmospheric, melodic and full of rhythm music. His experience over the years playing as resident in clubs such like Zoon, Noite and Habittus to mention a few in Mexico City have developed in Alan the gift to attract the crowd. In 2014 he burst into the international scene with the release As We Are which later would be licensed in more than 20 international labels. His main music influences are fellow producers such as CID Inc, Dmitry Molosh, Guy J, Khen and Hernan Cattaneo among others. His music is championed by many throughout the world and 2018 is shaping up to be a pretty decent year. The remix here wastes no time in getting right into a smooth, deep and moody progressive house joint. Nice chunky beats are met with subdued hi hats and rhythmic percussions alongside a wonderful, deep and rich bassline. Hair raising pads and soft voices raise the mood, taking us higher. The main break throws up some very nice melodies that contrast excellently with the deeper elements. An absolute must have for sure.
