Palm Beach, Florida based DJ, producer Faraz M, debuts on Bonzai Progressive with the superb two tracker titled, Nura. Prior to DJing and producing, he had an immense passion for music, especially electronic music. In his late teenage years, house music and techno caught his attention. And in his early twenties, he was introduced to underground techno clubs in Miami where he experienced live sets from artists such as Sharam, Solomun, Chris Liebing, Behrouz, and others, which inspired him to learn how to DJ and eventually produce music. To date, he’s performed in many local clubs in West Palm Beach as well as Fort Lauderdale and Miami. He not only has a very unique and sophisticated sound in his music, he also maintains an adequate combination of energy and emotion that keeps the audience in pure bliss. Lately, he’s put all his focus on music production. In 2018 he released his first track under Boston Underground. Then, in early 2020 he released his first EP, titled Astral Projection, under Quanticman Records and at the end of 2020 he released his edit of Billie Eilish’s Everything I Wanted. Great to have him on board.
Nura etches out a dynamic, plucky groove, backed with deep gritty basses for striking contrasts. The track is powered by a solid beat alongside flurries of crispy percussions and sharp claps, creating a steady rhythmic flow. Arpeggiated, bright synth plucks combine amidst atmospheric FX and haunting pads, adding that extra layer and taking us deeper into the rabbit hole. Top-notch stuff.
Mahtaab offers up a rich and more conventional progressive groove, while retaining Faraz’s unique style in the sound. A strong drum section complete with chunky kicks and exotic percussions leads the way, while a deep, droning bass shores up the low end. Captivating vocals weave through the groove, accompanied by melodic arpeggios and gritty bass stabs, culminating in a vibrant groove that will definitely keep the floors busy.
