Downgrooves and Chris Sterio debut on Bonzai Progressive with a super deep progressive offering in the form of Zen Moments which comes backed up with two quality remixes. Mario & Eric J make up Downgrooves and they are an established progressive house production team based out of Dallas, Texas. They have been producing music for over 20 years, with releases on labels such as Mistique Music, Armada, Incepto Music, Source of Gravity, Musicon, 7 Seas Digital, 7 Seas NuWave and many more. The pair also host the Source of Gravity Radio show on Proton Radio and they continue to make modern house, techno and progressive that can be described as melodic, atmospheric, lush and deep, built on the solid foundations of house grooves. Isle Of Man based DJ and producer Chris Sterios brings his wealth of experience to this one and, having worked with Downgrooves on previous projects, we can see how this trio of artists just clicks into place creating a superior quality sound. Chris has also worked on Source of Gravity as well as Gravitation and more recently Soundscapes Digital. A veteran with over 15 years in the progressive scene, we’re delighted to have him and Downgrooves here at BP.
The Original Mix intros with a nice classic drum arrangement featuring subtle hi hats and cool percussions following a chunky kick drum. Warm pads ease into the groove as an infectious, warming bassline lures us deeper. Brighter melodic keys create colourful textures and dulcet tones while a spoken vocal narrates. Super smooth progressive house that is a definite must have.
With a career spanning over 20 years, Robert Oleysyck has proven to be one of the most talented, diverse and respected DJ’s around. He debuts on Bonzai Progressive with a solid remix that he can add to his long list of accomplishments over the years. Credited as being one of the founders of the Las Vegas scene, Robert is respected as one of the early pioneers of the west coast underground music movement, dating back to the early 90’s. Well known as the driving force behind the legendary nightclub Utopia (which was often referred to as the Twilo of the west coast), he was the Resident DJ and organizer for a glorious five year run, playing to thousands of people every night, and hosting International talents such as Sasha, Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox. Garnering praise from fans and the media alike, Robert has been awarded as the Best DJ in Las Vegas several times, and has been featured in countless magazines and interviews. On the remix here he takes us on a rip roaring journey deep into progressive tech. Right from the off it’s a raucous affair as pounding kick drums get right in your face. Cool percussions generate a rhythmic flow as a soft melodic synth fades up. A dark vocal takes us to the hypnotic bassline which meanders effortlessly through the groove. While the bassline definitely shines through, the synths create a wonderful dynamic in the sound making this a track not to be missed.
Adnan Jakubovic returns to BP after his debut way back at the start of 2017 with a top notch remix. Considered one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s pioneering producers with an impressive catalogue of quality tracks, Adnan’s production simply has no boundaries and he has never set his music under one style. His style is one of energy and love with each track carrying many characteristics from multiple genres. His tracks also appear regularly on Beatport’s top listings making him a much sought after artist. Adnan takes us on a pleasurable trek into progressive with a super smooth, almost gliding sound filled with warmth and harmony. A tight drum section drives the track while deep probing basses takes us to the depths. Melodic keys and a mesmeric pad captivate and lull us into the groove. A beautifully crafted slice that will not disappoint.
