Dark Soul Project & Mathov enlist the stunning vocals of Fe Malefiz on the superb Ain’t No Melodies Left For Me which comes backed up with three fantastic remixes. Dark Soul Project marks his full debuts on Bonzai after his track Feels Like Heaven featured on our Club Traxx Progressive House compilation. He brings a wealth of talents to the table as his impressive back catalogue will attest. Mathov returns after his highly regarded Dark Activity was released in early November with support pouring in from all quarters. Since leaving uplifting trance behind he is definitely causing a stir in the progressive world with his smooth grooves. German singer Fe Malefiz provides the vocals for this release and it’s clear why she has been chosen as you will find out. Fe has worked with many artists over the years including Martin Merkel among others.

First up we have the Original Mix which intros with a cool drum arrangement filled with chunky kicks, sharp hats and rhythmic percussions. The track breaks to reveal a lush bass that sits perfectly within the groove and becomes the mainstay of the track. We get our first glimpse of the vocal here with its haunting tones and melodic phrases. The groove settles in with a strong progressive edge that will keep the heads nodding. The main break unleashes the vocal as it sweeps throughout before the Bjork-esque song comes through just at the right time to round up this absolute stunner of a track. A definite must have.

On remix duty we have Tallinn’s own Zas & Sanze aka Mindgamers. We haven’t seen the guys for a while as they have been busy with DJing and other projects, but we know they will be unleashing their latest works soon which we are all excited about. Here the guys do their thing and they do it well as always. Tight progressive vibes right from the off, muted kicks are joined by a fading in bass alongside cool FX. The kicks transform into chunky hits as the bass warms to become a lush grooving sequence. Fe’s vocal comes through beautifully here and blends so perfectly with the sounds around it. The groove is captivating as it lulls you into its grip with the help of sharp melodic sequences that add character and contrast to the sound. Another fine offering from the guys and sure to be a main feature in many sets.

Kintar returns for remix duty here at Bonzai Progressive with his unique blend of prog house that we know and love. DJing is a big part of his career, playing all over the world, you’d think he wouldn’t have the time for producing but he finds the time and always gets it done with great results. Here he intros the track with a fantastic low end kick, crispy hats and snappy claps. A deep resonating bassline shores up the rear as the layers build bringing surreal sweeping pads that lead up to some cool, subtle melodic flavours. The vocal is used sparingly with great effect as the anticipation builds with the help of an intense piano chord. Wonderful stuff out of Argentina and a track you have got to have.

Audio Noir never stops, he relentlessly churns out top quality productions and remixes to the delight of many. His most recent stint was Reworked Volume 2 from his album Almost Famous which have been getting fantastic support from many quarters. Much more to come out of Australia which we always look forward to. Here he gives us his Rekonstruction mix which takes the tempo back a bit, getting into a more laidback vibe. The intro is a wonderful cacophony of glitched FX and atmospheric sequences which combine beautifully before a superb warm bass breaks things up and provides that almost downtempo quality. The kicks sit mid range and allow you to become immersed in their beat while cool crispy hats bring a rhythmic flow to the sound. The vocal keeps the track firmly on course with its wonderfully haunting and rich tones. Subtle melodies play out as you become hypnotized by this sublime progressive groove. Yet again we get hooked by an Audio Noir cut, not to be missed.
