Checco Esse returns to Bonzai Progressive with the superb Marta’s Theme. We normally see this guy paired up with Adriano Dodici but this time he is flying solo. Checco first got into music in the early 90’s. He started to DJ in local clubs, quickly becoming a well-known name on the local scene thanks to support from the likes of Alex Neri who got him to play at his club. In 1995 he released his first production titled Poseidon which gained a lot of support and radio play.
The Original Mix intros with a solid kick drum and subtle hi hat combo. Rhythmic percussions layer up alongside twinkling arpeggios and a deep rumbling bassline. The track becomes infectious as more cascading melodies are introduced and on the break the sounds blend together beautifully before a short build up takes us back to the main groove. A wonderfully rich and intriguing slice that will not disappoint.
On the Rework Mix Checco ramps up the energy levels with a full-on progressive mover that will be a welcome addition in any peak time set. Tough, punchy beats and sharp hi hats line up against creative percussions as a tense, underlying groove lurks. A rolling bassline takes over the groove and you find yourself moving to the infectious beat. A melodious break captivates before building to climax and then back to that powerful chugging, hypnotic cadence that will grab a lot of attention for sure.
