Italian DJ and producer duo Riccardo Lippi and Marco Bottari make up Stranger Boys and they debut on Piston Recordings with the superb two tracker – Industry. Stranger Boys also known as Strangers Boys was brought to life in 2013 by Riccardo aka Ricky KK as a project to in electronic music, particularly tech house, minimal, deep house and techno. In the beginning he saw the project as a solo effort but with the idea of integrating new artists with similar interests. Towards the end of 2015 Marco Bottari joined and things started to get interesting for the pair. In 2016 they played for the first time together on Ibiza Radio before several releases came out on various labels. Lots more to come from these guys, well worth keeping an eye on.
Smokin Us aka Italy based artist Kenneth Nshuti debuts on Piston Recordings with Love U – a delicious two tracker that delivers a solid slice of house music for our aural pleasure. Over the last couple of years this guy has been churning out quality cuts on several labels and, he commands a lot of attention for his delivery of sound that always generates a positive vibe. Delighted to have him on board.
Serbian DJ and producer Vlada D’Shake returns to Bonzai Progressive with the superb four tracker entitled Mesmerising. His debut for Bonzai was back in 2015 with Friday Night and since then he has shown up on guest mix duties on our Bonzai Basik Beats radioshow among other things. Since 2011 this guy has been churning out top quality cuts on various labels including Balkan Connection, Juicebox Music, Mistique Music and Stripped Digital to name just a few. His tracks are regularly picked up and featured in the sets of some of the world’s best known jocks. This is a testament to the quality and style this guy offers and judging by his already extensive discography, it’s no real surprise. With four tracks on offer here we’re treated to some tasty moments that are sure to rip up the floors at any venue. Nice to have him back once more and we hope to see more in the future.
Slovenian DJing Quicker Balance mark their Piston Recordings debut with the fantastic two tracker Feel The Melody. This talented pair have a passion for music and are still experimenting with different styles and concepts. They’ve always admired other artists, shown great respect for their music and the dedication their peers put into writing music. Their style is diverse to say the least, itis a mixture of raw beats, influenced by soul, jazz and funk. Listening to their music will put you in many places within your mind, we like to envisage a sun soaked terrace with a cool drink and a partying crowd. Great to have them on board and we hope to see more soon.
Argentinean DJ and producer duo Agustin Dutari and Mauro Mosciaro debut on Piston with the tech house fuelled three tracker Behind The Beat. These guys are two clear examples of how Argentinean dance culture is shifting and moving, especially towards the rhythms of house. In the studio they combine their skill sets to produce only the finest quality beats and grooves. Agustin utilises his DJ skills, which he has presented at top clubs including Pacha, Ibiza and in showcases for Ibiza Global Radio. He has also travelled the beautiful Balearic Islands playing at different beach clubs and bars such as Sands, Delano, White, Magic Boat Party and Veto Social Club. Mauro combines his career as a music producer with DJing. He runs his own studio and when he’s not laying down house laden beats he’s working with bands and solo artists as a sound engineer. Working together for the last couple of years they are able to hone in on each other’s ideas with some very nice results indeed. A rising force in the South American scene and beyond, this duo is well worth keeping an eye on.
Breeder’s groundbreaking trancer “New York FM” a.k.a Sputnik finally gets a re-touch for 2017 and what a remix this is! Rise And Fall takes the best elements of the original and does what he is best at wrapping it up into his trademark slow building progressive madness! Huge riffs, powerful low end, crisp and clean drums, tight production and bags of energy – the track has it all! A proper update of the legendary classic that has been long awaited!
Spanish DJ and producer Adrian Roman shows up on Bonzai Progressive with the superb three tracker entitled Giro. We first got a taste of this guys sound back in 2015 on our Progrez imprint with Reverse, which was very well received indeed. From a young age Adrian was interested in music, he took guitar lessons at age 8 before he started to listen to electronic music. He became interested in DJing and got hold of the tools needed to hone his skills. Production soon followed and he became fascinated with creating something from scratch. Great to see him back and no doubt we’ll be seeing more in the future.
Argentinean DJ and producer Sherr aka German Basualdo debuts on Piston Recordings with the fantastic Los Monjes EP. Since his childhood he developed a passion for the art of sound. His love for the creation of rhythms and melodies grew over time, then he discovered house and fell in love with this rhythm. An obsessive collector always open to new inspirations of house music, he immediately began to understand and create his own music. His DJ sets are always fun, original and full of grooves that have made thousands of Buenos Aires clubbers dance over the years. He has seen releases on Innocent Music, Act Natural Records, Deeper Records, Alboratory, Tip Tap Records and Baile Musik. Great to have him on board at Piston.
Aiming to keep floors busy with another fine slice of House music, Demarkus Lewis returns to Piston with the fantastic Sing It which comes packed with four top notch remixes offering diversity in a range of styles. Last time out Demarkus gave us the brilliant I Do It Naturally and since then he has also released quality cuts on various labels. Over his long and successful career he has seen releases on Nervous Records, Slip N Slide, Black Vinyl, Kingtstreet Soundz and Guesthouse Music to name just a few. He also owns the successful Grin Music where he showcases only the finest grooves. It’s no wonder this guys is considered a legend in the underground scene and we’re delighted to have him back for his third Piston outing. If you’re in the market for the perfect club weapon then you’ve landed at just the right place.

Chris Raven’s 1998 smasher, I Know You Love Me Too, gets the remix treatment on our next 25 year celebrations release. The talented Alfonso Muchacho is the artist in the hot seat this time around and he delivers a sublime effort that compliments the original beautifully. This one marked Chris Raven’s debut on the scene and featured a superb, deep progressive groove alongside a sultry, melancholic vocal. Originally appearing in 1997, Bonzai Trance Progressive snapped up this hit a year later putting this special sound into a worldwide audience making it an instant classic. Remixes from Bruce Norris and Van Bellen sparked a decade’s long debate as to which was better, both stand out as greats in our opinion. Chris went on to release several other top notch cuts on BTP putting his work firmly within the realms of retro classics status. Alfonso Muchacho debuted on our Green Martian imprint with Despina back in July 2014 before delivering a fantastic remix on Mendexx’s Life Begins on Bonzai Progressive in November 2014. Since then he has went on to feature in various compilations as well as stepping up for gust mix duties on Bonzai Basik Beats. Alfonso learned his craft at underground parties across the UK and his remixes and productions were quickly supported by some of the biggest names in the scene. His ridiculously committed work ethic churns out quality results at every turn and will ensure that his tracks continue to fill the sets of the world’s biggest progressive DJs.
After a hugely successful return to Bonzai Progressive with Mitochondria in 2016, we welcome Cortex Thrill back in 2017 with the superb Utopia which features two top notch remixes from Thorin and Fabian Jakopetz. Regarded with high esteem in the music production world Cortex Thrill’s style and sound helped shape an entire scene back in the early nineties. Throughout the years the Cortex Thrill sound has moved effortlessly with the times, right up to today it brings a unique dynamic that reverberates beautifully, slotting into progressive sets with ease. The Cortex Thrill studio remains a hub of activity with lots of work being done not only for Bonzai but for Soul Access and for the Croatian electronic music scene in general. Lots more to come out of Croatia so stay tuned for more.
Buenos Aires based DJ and producer Ivo C debuts on Piston with the superb It’s Time EP. Ivo has been releasing quality content since 2013 and his work has appeared on the likes of Deepmentality Records, Club Rayo Disquets, Kermesse Music, Votan Records and more. He puts in a lot of time DJing at various events around his hometown and beyond and his sets are renowned for pumping the crowd with energy and dynamic mixing. Great to have him on board at Piston and no doubt we’ll be seeing more from him in the future.
Danny eM is back with another round of quality house music in the form of his Mas House Que Esto EP that we just love here at Piston. His last outing – Voces EP – was very well received and no doubt this one will grab a lot of attention also. Based in Lima, Peru Danny is influenced by Chicago House and New York Garage. He has released on Audionumb in Peru and on Form and Function in the UK. We’re delighted to have him back once more.
