EPISODE 53: Citizen 42 – Focus EP (Bonzai Progressive)

Citizen 42 is the Techno and House alias of Andy MacDougall aka Andy Tau.

Over the last few years Andy has been releasing trance and progressive under the pseudonym Andy Tau and Trilucid, with regular support from top DJ’s and a string of succesful releases on several high profile labels, as well as tracks featuring on Trance Nation mixed by Andy Moor, Gatecrasher Anthems mixed by Paul van Dyk, Trancemaster 7001 and many more.

As well as his involvement in trance Andy is also an accomplished house and techno producer releasing music as Citizen 42, with several tracks lined up for release throughout 2010 and 2011.

In this release for Bonzai Progressive he offers us two original tracks, In Focus and Castle.

EPISODE 54: Solartoff – Deep In The City (Eyepatch Recordings)

Solartoff life is all about music. He is foremost a DJ and spinning the decks
is what he is living for and this is what he has been doing for the past 10 years.

Solartoff is definitely a man that truly has a style of his own. His passion is to combine different styles of music with his formidable mixing skills thriving to present the perfect set full of personality.
Growing up in the mid-90s, the strongest musical influence on his life was Marek Bilinski a composer and multi-instrumentalist from Poland. Listening to the vibes of the electronic music scene Solartoff soon became part of it.Today Solartoff is read to sweep the dancefloor and surprise the people with his gorgeous sets without musical boundary.

He is always searching for the striking impulses in club music to turn the hours on the dancefloor into special and lasting moments.
He loves to play long DJ-sets benefiting from ability to mix whatever music he pleases selecting with good taste and feel from a range of music.

He loves to switch styles from Deep House, to Tech House or else Funky House.And as long as the people keep moving on the dancefloor: Who cares? Solartoff does not because to him its about making people move. And whenever the crowd thinks he got his style he is already up for something else.

EPISODE 55: Lights Electronika & Valeria Croft featuring Kash – Multiply (Piston Recordings)

The Lights Electronika project started in the end of the last millennium at one of St.Petersburg’s high schools where the project’s future creators met. Max and Leon shared the same passion for music, hip hop being their major interest. First thoughts about electronic music came to them in 1998 after the guys saw a TV show dedicated to new music styles of the time.

In 1999 the duo lost each other for a while Leon moved to Finland, but after a year they met again in Helsinki where they got to know drum and bass music and went in that direction. Max and Leon dived into the fast-changing world of electronic music. Soulful and Atmospheric D’n’B pushed guys to transform their affection to the style into something more than just a hobby.

Leon learned to use music software to write his first D’n’B samples in Finland while Max started his professional music career as a Dj at one of St.Petersburg’s music promo groups. After gaining the needed experience and some success with audience, Max and Leon united to create a joint project, which started off as a series of parties dedicated to drum and bass.

In 2007 the guys finally got the opportunity to work together when Max moved to Finland. Meanwhile they began to develop an interest to the house music and new experiments led to the creation of the Lights Electronika/Synthetic Pigments projects. The latter one was fully dedicated to the soulful D’n’B.

Since 2007 Max and Leon proved themselves to become a significant part of the electronic world of Finland’s capital with their sets played in mainstream clubs of Helsinki…

EPISODE 56: James Brook – Breakaway (AU Records)

James Brook’s real name is actually the direct translation to his home language, Tiago Ribeiro. Born in 1991, Portugal, deejaying since 2007 and producing since the begining of 2008 (at the age of 16 years old), Tiago started searching for his own sound style and worked on several projects such as “Pry” (where he have produced various variants of house music and released tracks on reknown labels such as “Sundesire”, “Indalo”, “Doctormusik”, “AU”, “Loop 128” or “Kaos”, selling music worldwide) or “Golden Drop” (where he’ve produced is own played solo pianos, trip hop and experimental sounds).

After 3 years of artistic and technical refining, Tiago Ribeiro iniciated “James Brook” project, where he makes progressive house music, always obeying to the highest professional artistic and technical quality standards, and always keeping a smooth artistic line between his tracks.

Oz Romita is known for his fresh and energetic style. Over the years he developed a very wide and various taste for dance music, thanks to his residencies in clubs. All records he spins are selected with great care, to create a powerful set. His capacity of mixing ranges from tribal and uplifting beats, to tech house, minimal and techno. He knows how to handle the crowd with everything he has got and he defo knows how to keep people dancing.

Oz Romita, born in Izmir, Turkey and raised in Amsterdam, has been working and rocking the scene since 1997. Worldwide he played in clubs and parties such as, Club Panama, Club Ministry, Bliss Deluxe, In Bed with Space (Amsterdam), Circo Loco (Antwerp), Café d’Anvers, La Rocca, Noxx, Hali Karnas, Scene, Infinity Festival, Suppercub Cruise, Luxurush, Heineken Music Hall, Mysteryland, Marcanti, Club Home, Lexion, Full Moon Parties (Thailand), Santa Fe, Green Mango, Le Ranch, Club Cinco and many others.

EPISODE 58: Daily Dose – Waiting For (Howz Choonz)

Daily Dose is born in Belgium in the year 1989.
At an early age he discovered Electronic Music.
On his sixteenth birthday he got his first set of turntables and started to buy his first records.
Everybody in his family played an instrument but he chose the path of electronic music and it did not take long before he started producing his own tracks.

Slowly he discovered more and more about the wonderful world of electronic music.
He went through a wide variety of different electronic musical genres but ended up with developing a more focused interest in funky and deep sounding house, minimal and techno.
