EPISODE 166: Tiago Ribeiro – Grooviest Cat (AU Records)

AU Orange is proud to present its third release. Deepest than ever, Tiago Ribeiro’s “Grooviest Cat” is an EP full of surprises, containing the original version and 3 wonderful remixes from Joao Teixeira (Portugal), Filipa Rebelo (Portugal) and Jazzam (Ecuador).

Tiago Ribeiro made its original version very pleasant to classic deep-house lovers with its “chicago beat style” fused with delayed saxophone sounds, typical delayed house music female shouts and the unusual using of “mafia style” vocals and flute sounds. This very simple composition has been tested and approved in the dance floor, making the crowd move to its groove.

Joao Teixeira, portuguese DJ and house music producer is the newest acquisition on our artist team. His remix shown how perfectly he fits AU Orange’s philosophy, delivering his meaningful mix, enabling the listener to take a trip while listening to his track. Beautifully sculpted, this version is marked by its random sounding percussion and every little detail in its production, from the usage of the right sounding pads and stabs, ambience violins and brilliant vocal treatment. We asked, Joao delivered!

Filipa Rebelo presented a solid sounding mix with a beautiful composition between different synth sounds, building a beautiful sounding deep-house track. Very well produced, this mix has a different basis, changing the classic “chicago house beat” with very powerful and effective new-school percussion. Once more Filipa’s done it and made her magic, grabbing the “old schoolish’ original mix and recreating in a completely different way, while keeping all its feelings and beauty.

Jazzam brought to the EP his techie vision of “Grooviest Cat”, spicing it to ground shaking levels! If every version in this EP has its own hour to be played, Jazzam’s version is definitely the 6AM version. Outrageously dance-floor effective, this mix counts with beautifully synthesized arp’s and great overall arranging and its our big trump to hit the most demanding crowds.

Years have passed and the magic is cautiously blended into know how – Amplifiers and compressors, Drum arrangements and notes, Cutoffs and wavetables all put together side by side to reproduce and recur similar musical ideas.

strong>EPISODE 171: Airwave – Cathedrals Of Hope (L*C*D Recordings)

God, this is one hell of a cracker!

Cathedrals Of Hope is an outstanding piece of music. Credible, Strong, with an Attitude.

Reset marks Airwave’s return to heavier sounds for a trancer that’s larger than life.

And Last But Not Least: a Brand New Version of his last Smasher Atlas Winds, this time featuring great vocals by Francesca Genco. Should justify its presence into every actual dj’s recordbox for the next months to come.

Essential Release.
