We welcome Bob The Groove back to Bonzai Progressive with his fourth outing titled My First Day Beyond The Sky which is backed up with two solid remixes. This one follows his superb remix on Anthony Yarranton’s Meridian and proves once again that the Frenchman knows how to produce the goods. A mysterious character, Bob The Groove lets his music do the talking. He has seen releases on several labels over the years like AH Digital, Abstract Space Records, 238w, D&R Digital, Aeriform, Hydrogen and 3xA Music. As always, it’s a pleasure to have him on board.
The Original Mix is a clever combination of deep progressive grooves and sublime 303 action which sends the track into the stratosphere. Tight drums keep the rhythm flowing nicely as a probing bassline shores up the low end, but the big hitter here is the multi-layered 303 sequences. Acid lines inter-twine effortlessly creating a myriad of squelches that become infectious. On the break, melodic pads lift the groove brilliantly before getting back to full on mode. A top-notch joint that will not disappoint.
Night Shift Master aka Vlad Medvedev returns to BP after a short hiatus with a quality remix. Israeli DJ and producer Vlad started to study in a music school when he was 6 years old. After completing his studies at the music school (focusing on Violin and Piano), he graduated from the music academy of his home town, when he was 16. While getting his B.A degree in audio technology and sound engineering, he produced music in the styles of Deep House, Tech House, Progressive House, Progressive Trance. Vlad has been also composing music for movies, commercials, performs as a DJ and participates in many other music projects. During his DJ sets, Vlad incorporates performance that are special and unique. On the remix here, we are treated to an epic ride through progressive house thanks to a beautifully constructed break beat arrangement which is filled with various synth layers that combine to deliver a euphoric melodic sequence. On the low end, a deep rumbling bassline dominates making this one a definite must have.
BILBONI aka Slovene musician Goran Bilbija is back at BP on remix duties. Goran’s early starts in the field were marked by attending and concluding a music school, where he learnt to play the accordion. As a teenager, his passion for music accelerated to the point where he would spend all his monthly pocket money on borrowing/buying new records. Growing up, he started tasting the club life. At the age of 20, he established a successful music duo 2 Alive and signed quite a few contracts with various record labels. Goran delivers a fine slice of progressive house on the remix here. Right from the off we’re drawn into the groove as chunky beats lead the way alongside a hypnotic synth and captivating melodic pads that rise out of the depths. A superb rolling bassline keeps us locked in while epically charged synths get the energy levels rising. A serious track, not to be missed.
