Long standing Bonzai contributor Blufeld returns to BP alongside Nikko Mavridis with the superb Pothos which comes backed up with two fantastic remixes from Cryss and Magnovis. Blufeld has been captivated and completely mesmerized into a three dimensional world of sound, and endeavours to maximize all levels of the sonic and emotional spectrum so as to reach and tug at the heartstrings of people who love electronic music. He is a craftsman with a deep sense of care and love for the output and quality of his productions, just like his last outing here with Tristful Sleeper. Nikko Mavridis is a DJ, producer, radio producer and a promoter. He is considered to be one of the most respected and well-known DJ’s in Greece. In the 90’s he was one of the most energetic members of DMC Hellas and at the same time he presented a highly rated radio show in Kavala. He is recognised for his ability behind the decks and his unique style and he has graced the stage with many top names over the years. Nikko has been quite busy in making his own music recently. He started recording as Coda with his partners Nicodream and Saki Tee and together they have racked up an impressive release count, which are heavily supported by DJ’s all over the world. Nowadays he is producing his own remixes and originals with his unique deep progressive sound.
The Original Mix is a beautifully melodic and dreamy slice of progressive that captivates the mind. A tight drum section keeps the rhythm moving nicely while a warm, lush bassline sits perfectly, driving the groove. Melodic arpeggios cascade throughout and create a sublime atmosphere alongside swelling pads and those subtle note changes on the bassline. Full of emotion and mystery this track is a definite must have for sure.
Romanian DJ and producer Cryss is back on remix duties and once again he pulls out all the stops for another round of quality vibes. We last saw him with My Scary Dream on Green Martian and Simple Pleasure on Bonzai Progressive as well as a few remixes and compilation appearances in 2017. It was during high school where Cryss made the crazy vibe at all the parties, mixing music on tapes or vinyls and then, in his 20s, on CDs in clubs. He took things to the next level as a musician, DJ, composer and producer giving him more satisfaction than anything in the world. So in the past few years his life changed radically in terms of the attention he gave and gives to music, in all areas. Always great to have him here at BP. The remix here intros with a very cool rolling bassline with simple note changes having a huge impact on the delivery of the sound. Calming pads fill the background as synths begin to fade in, creating sweet melodies. A solid drum section will definitely get the floors moving making this a track not to be missed.
Canadian artist Rob Dawson aka Magnovis knocks up a fine remix which comes after his debut back in the Summer of 2017 with Nocturn. Magnovis mindfully crafts music that express his infatuation with sound. Each piece is an opportunity to work with people close to him or to explore a new sensation that invokes the desire to groove. Citing Victor Calderone, Guy J., Guy Mantzur, Cid Inc., and Chus & Ceballos as his influences, his listeners wholeheartedly agree that he has carved his own signature sound. It’s these personal touches that make Magnovis’ pieces shine. His tracks are infectious, bold, and, most importantly, uniquely his. Here he knocks up a solid progressive house remix which captivates right from the off as muted kick drums are matched with mesmerizing percussive arpeggios and intriguing FX. The kicks get beefed up to a punchy level and the track takes off. An organic bassline fades in alongside melancholic tones creating a surreal atmosphere. Gated synths bring forth sweeter melodies and airy pads create a richness in the sound. A beautifully crafted dynamic slice that will definitely grab a lot of attention.
